This works!!!!
From Clearlake, CAComments about AminAvastI had 6 cats that got the contaminated Eukanuba and Iams. 1 died before the contamination was announced and 2 more right away. I started giving the one left with compromised kidneys the Renavast now called Aminavast and he lived 9 years. My brother's 16yr-old(17 in April) has been on it for over a year now and is doing fine. -
I would buy this again
From New HampshireComments about AminAvastI use this combined with RenaVast per my homeopathic vets instructions for my cat. Blood work shows this works. My conventional vet only recommends one and is not seeing the results when combined. -
Made a big difference in how my cat feels and acts
From Eugene, OregonComments about AminAvastWe discovered my cat had early stage kidney disease 15 months ago. She was 15-1/2 years old at the time and I was concerned that she had started losing weight. She also showed signs of "slowing down", which I had accepted as just part of her getting older. A blood test revealed the kidney disease, and our vet suggested that we try RenaVast. After she was on it several weeks, the difference was noticeable. She was back to acting like her old self, and a subsequent blood test showed no further deterioration in her condition. While she didn't regain any of the weight she lost, after fifteen months on the RenaVast (and now the AminAvast) she's still doing great. -
Really helps manage Chronic Renal Failure
From BaltimoreComments about AminAvastAppears to do the job in managing CRF. I've had a number of kitties with CRF in the past 20+ years & have gone to great lengths to manage their health and extend their lives. Protocol used to be fluid therapy and dietary restrictions and not much else. Was surprised to learn about Renavast/Aminavast for the first time with a recent diagnosis of CRF on another kitty. Had never heard of it before last year! I know this product has been around for a little while ---- so am now wondering why other vets don't know about it. It kills me to think that the life of another kitty with CRF 6 years ago -- may have died prematurely because the vet didn't know about this product.

One of the ingredients in AminAvast is Maltodextrin which is a sugar. How does it effect the cat's blood sugar levels? Is there enough of it in a capsule to raise it??
-
According to the manufacturer, maltodextrin has been studied in 2 feline studies, 1 canine study, and 2 human studies with no evidence of an increase in blood sugar. Additionally, the manufacturer states that their formula has been used since 2009 without any reports of increase in blood sugar. Amnivast My cat has diabetes and his blood glucose has settled to a reasonable number. I gave him amnivast this morning 1/2 capsule mixed in his food. His his blood glucose was a lot higher tonight. Could this be caused by amnivast? Also, he ate the wet food and 1/2 capsule mixed in his food this morning. Tonight the amnivast sprinkles have been mixed in his food. He's not as hungry. In addition, this evening he is drinking more between bites of food. Is this to be expected??

According to the manufacturer, there have been no reported side effects from this product. The manufacturer stated that this product may be given to diabetic cats. but it is recommended that you consult with your veterinarian first. I have a 9lb cat in renal failure who has been on Aminavast for over a year. I have recently been having difficulties getting her to take the medication. She has always been a picky eater so sprinkling on food will not work. She no longer will take pill pockets. I have been opening her mouth and placing pill in the back of mouth. Question Can I give her both daily pills at the same time??
-
The manufacturer recommends giving this product twice daily. They suggest for finicky cats, or those whose appetite is diminished, take a small syringe (about 3ml) and fill it with 1.5 ml of water. Dispense the water into a small cup, mix with the contents of the AminAvast™ capsule, then draw the solution back into the syringe, and then squirt the contents of the syringe into the cat's mouth.
