Great for skin itching issues
My English bulldog had severe hot spots & allergy related itching. Couldn't keep him on steroids any longer so Vet suggested Atopica. He has been on it 2 years now and no more itching and hair loss issues. This is also my first time ordering from vet redirect and good experience do far.

This product solved an immune skin disorder.
From UndisclosedComments about Atopica (cyclosporine) for DogsAt 13 years old my labradoodle retriever mix starting losing his fur and getting crusty oily skin patches. After several months different treatments and with a final diagnosis of an immune skin disorder the veterinary recommended taking the Atopica in a low dose daily. In quick order his hair started growing back and the crusty oily patches disappeared. He still has a roughness to his skin but the vet has said that is normal under his condition and age. I keep the Atopica in the freezer and give it to him with his morning meal. He has never gotten sick from the medicine or not eaten it. I am very pleased with the outcome. -

Excellent product
From undisclosedComments about Atopica (cyclosporine) for DogsOur German Shepherd has peri-anal fistulas (and IBD) and we've been using Atopica for almost 2 years. He was a very sick puppy for a long time and we were at the end of our rope until a specialist did testing and put him on this drug. He gets a little nauseous from time to time, but he is on 2 other meds to help that. Atopica has literally been a life-saver for him! Along with his home cooked diet, he gained back 15 pounds and is healthy and happy today. -

Can I get Atopica on an auto reship every month so I don't have to order it each month??
-
Our Auto-Delivery program is currently for over the counter items only. Because Atopica is a prescription item, you will need to place this order separately. If you have any questions, please contact our pharmacy team via email at [email protected]. Other contact information is available on our site at: https://www.vetrxdirect.com/contact.

What makes Atopica different from a script for generic cyclosporin (modified) which I am finding is significantly cheaper (since it is the base or active ingredient in Atopica) ??
-
Atopica is a vet labeled, brand name medication that contains cyclosporine as the active ingredient. Generic cyclosporine, a human labeled medication, contains the same active ingredient and may be prescribed by veterinarians for use in animals. A generic medication is equivalent to a brand name medication in dose, safety, effectiveness, strength, stability, and quality, as well as in the way it is taken and the way it should be used.

My dog has been using Apoquel for his skin allergies. How does Atopica compare to Apoquel??
-
These drugs work by affecting the function of certain chemically controlled pathways in the body. In dogs, both drugs work on pathways that are involved in inflammation. Atopica works only on pathways that affect inflammation. Apoquel works both on pathways that control inflammation and pathways that control allergy responses. If you have questions about which treatment is more appropriate for your dog or are interested in switching treatments, please consult your veterinarian. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Why are you twenty dollars more expensive than my Vet? You advertise meds at a discount.?
-
Paco, Medication prices can vary depending on a variety of factors, including locale and acquisition cost. We recommend checking out prices so you know you’re taking care of your pet at the best cost possible, and it sounds like for you, you’re lucky enough to have that option locally. I have a script from my vet for atopica may I fax this to you or do I have to mail it I am in your system as I placed an order for this and you faxed the request to my vet which in turn waited and now has given it to me.?
-
Cinny, If your veterinarian will not fax the prescription directly to us and has issued you a written prescription instead, we do need that mailed to us, as, per pharmacy law, we are required to have the original prescription. Thank you, VetRxDirect
