Are there any side effects when giving this medication to dogs??

According to Plumb’s Veterinary Drug Handbook, Carprofen is well tolerated in most dogs. As with any medication there is potential for adverse effects. The most common side effects are mild GI effects (eg, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, inappetence) and/or lethargy. Rare, but serious side effects such as stomach ulcers, liver, or kidney problems have been reported. Side effects that may be serious or indicate a serious problem may include: Decrease or increase in appetite, vomiting, changes in bowel movements. Changes in behavior or activity levels, incoordination/weakness, seizure (convulsions) or aggression. Yellowing of gums, skin, or whites of the eyes (jaundice). Changes in drinking habits or urination habits. Changes in skin (redness, scabs, or itchiness). If you see any of these signs or symptoms, contact your veterinarian immediately. It is recommended that you contact your veterinarian if you have any concerns about your dog while on this medication.
