I have a Shih Tzu who eats his own feces, plus his play mate's, also a Shih Tzu. Plus I have chickens and he eats their droppings also. How do I stop this and get him to eat his DOG FOOD. He is a VERY picky eater, most likely due to eating so much feces!?
-
We carry a few products to assist with the elimination of coprophagia (stool eating), including the Pala-tech Canine Cease Coprophagia, CoproBan, and For-bid. We do recommend, however, contacting your dog's veterinarian, as this behavior can sometimes be indicative of a more serious issue. Your pet's veterinarian will then be able to recommend the best course of treatment, if treatment is necessary. Thank you, VetRxDirect

the directions for the above item says over 40 lbs and under 40 lbs. Is this safe for a 4 month puppy at 6 lbs? If so, how much do I give her??
-
Cheryl, The manufacturer does not have directions for a puppy of this age and size and therefore it would be necessary to ask your veterinarian for the proper dosage and if Coproban would be appropriate in this case. Thank you, VetRxDirect
