From UndisclosedComments about Denamarin TabletsThe vet prescribed this medication for my nine year old dog. He has been feeling better since he started taking these tablets as directed on the box. Since I recently added a canine nutritional supplement he is back to being the active happy dog he was before he was diagnosed with liver problems. I would highly recommend this product as prescribed by your dog's vet.

My cat has a chicken allergy (possibly to all poultery and eggs, not sure) and developed skin inflammation after taking this supplement. His diet does not currently include any chicken so I am trying to determine the cause. Do the inactive ingredients contain any poultry or egg proteins??

My dog has been taking Denamarin tablets for the past 4 yrs. She has just recently started to vomit the tablet, up to 8 hrs after taking it. It appears as though it is not getting absorbed. I have tried giving it to her in the chewable form, and that seems to be working. Is this a common problem???
-
Frequent vomiting is not commonly reported with Denamarin tablets. The manufacturer reports that the active ingredients in Denamarin have been shown to be well-tolerated by both dogs and cats with a wide margin of safety. Please follow up with your veterinarian as this symptom may indicate a different underlying issue.

I have a cat that is about 21 pounds could I use the denamarin for large dogs. for my cat thank you.?
-
The Denamarin for Cats and Small Dogs tablets are recommended for cats because of their small tablet size and contain 90mg of the active ingredient S-Adenosylmethionine. For animals weighing over 12 lbs the labeled daily dosage is 1 tablet twice daily. The large dog Denamarin is recommended for animals weighing at least 35 lbs and over, has a larger tablet size, and contains 425 mg of S-Adenosylmethionine. The medium dog Denamarin is recommended for animals weighing 13 to 34 lbs and contains 225mg of S-Adenosylmethionine. We recommend talking with your veterinarian to determine which size product and dose is safe for your cat, and if you can move up the medium size.

What is the dosage for large dogs - I am assuming more than 1 chewable correct??
-
It depends on how much the dog weighs. Anything over 30 pounds will be at least 1 1/2 tablets. If you look at the product page on the website, there is a tab called "Package Insert", that link will open a new window which contains all the dosage instructions. Thank you, VetRxDirect
