Why do cats and dogs use Enroquin?
- Veterinarians prescribe Enroquin for cats and dogs suffering from bacterial infections of the skin, urinary tract, respiratory system, and other organs.

great for kennel cough
From UndisclosedComments about Enroquin (enrofloxacin) 22.7mg Flavored Tabletthis is an excellent product for GI problems, GU problems, uterine problems and respiratory problems. it is a fluorquinolone like cipro for humans, also good for all of those problems .I especially like it in combination with a low dose of dexamethasone for kennel cough, stops it in one or two doses if you catch it right away. I am not a vet but a physician MD -

Quality and Affordable Antibiotic
From undisclosedComments about Enroquin (enrofloxacin)My pup with a tracheostomy requires enrofloxacin on a daily basis. This was becoming very expensive purchasing from my veterinarian so I researched and found vetrxdirect to be the most affordable online pet pharmacy with the same quality products as one would receive from the veterinarian' s office. -
I would buy from VetRX again.

Baytril generic - good value
From Akron, OHComments about Enroquin (enrofloxacin)I have an elderly dog with an enlarged heart and prone to respiratory infections. This medication has been very helpful for her to get her started at first signs of infection then I get her to the vet for follow up. -
I would purchase this again if my pet needed it.
From Wilmington, DEComments about Enroquin (enrofloxacin)The only draw back was she did not like the flavor and would not eat the pills unless hidden in peanut butter. This is very unusual as she is a vacuum and will eat anything given to her. -
Fixed my dog's tummy problems
From UndisclosedComments about Enroquin (enrofloxacin)I am almost through 2 weeks of pills and my dog is doing much better. I also started him on new food and a new probiotic, so it's likely a combination of all three. He doesn't like the taste of the chewable, so I just pop it in a pill pocket and then he eats it right down.

My dog was DX with a UTI. Vet prescribed this med-204mg every 12 hours. He has had 2 doses now but is still not eating. I have tried all his favorites including chicken breast to no avail. How long before he should be interested in eating??

Enrofloxacin is reported to start exhibiting killing activity against susceptible bacteria quickly, but resolution of the infection depends on multiple factors such as severity of the infection, type of bacteria, and the pet’s immune system. Treatment is usually between 7-14 days long. Enrofloxacin itself has been associated with upset stomach and lack of appetite as a side effect. It would be important to speak with your pet’s veterinarian if you feel your pet is experiencing side effects or if your pet’s condition is not improving. Thank you, VetRxDirect

our 14 year old cat has a urinary tract infection with blood in his pee. what is the average dose with this drug?
-
Tim, A recommended dose for enrofloxacin in cats is 5mg/kg per day by mouth given once daily or given in divided doses twice daily, every 12 hours. In a 10 pound cat, this calculation would work out to be 22.7mg of enrofloxacin per day. However, your veterinarian will determine the dose and duration based on the severity and type of infection.
