Excellent Service
I ordered this product and needed a Vet's prescription for it. Vet Rx Direct was prompt and professional and got the product to me quickly and without a hitch. Because of their quick response in contacting my Vet and filling the prescription and sending it to me, "Lucy" did not have to miss her eye drop at all. The product itself was just what we needed. One happy dog and one happy owner.

small bottle
The size of the bottle and the hard plastic makes it very hard to squeeze. Would prefer the 10ml softer plastic bottle I get from my vet.

Great for my diabetic dog!
From UndisclosedComments about Flurbiprofen Sodium Ophthalmic SolutionThese drops are working well for diabetic dog. She was having problems with swollen and irritated eyes since going blind and since we started these I have not had to take her to the vet for eye issues. It does not help with the blindness but seems to relieve the pressure build up from the diabetes. No more pain pills for the eyes! -
Just what the Dr. ordered!
From Orange County, CA, USAComments about Flurbiprofen Sodium Ophthalmic SolutionI used to get my dog's meds from 1-800-Petmeds, but they didn't carry these eye drops that I needed, so I switched to VetRx and I have been very happy with their service and products. -
Just what the doctor ordered!
From MidwestComments about Flurbiprofen Sodium Ophthalmic SolutionOur diabetic Cairn Terrier developed cataracts and had lens replacement four years ago. The vet prescribed daily administration of Flurbiprofin Sodium drops. I found the price of the product at VetRXDirect to be very reasonable. -
Review
From Ellicott City, MD, USAComments about Flurbiprofen Sodium Ophthalmic SolutionGood service. Requirement for fax from Dr office is a deterrent. If Vet can fax Rx to me and I take faxed Rx to nearby pharmacy and that is acceptable, then why can't this service accept my fax?

how many drops are there in 2.5 ml container?
-
The amount of drops can vary depending on factors such as the angle in which a drop is dispensed from the bottle, but a general rule of thumb is to estimate about 20 drops per 1 mL of solution, so in a 2.5 mL bottle there will be around 50 drops.

Can this product be used on dogs for glaucoma??
-
Flurbiprofen is a medication that is frequently known to reduce the amount of inflammation or pain that your pet may experience. The mechanism in which flurbiprofen treats inflammation may also result in an increase in the pressure of your pet's eyes. Glaucoma is a disease characterized by elevation in eye pressure that results in visual field defects and therefore, flurbiprofen may not be advisable for your pet. Thank you, VetRxDirect

can flurbiprofen & diclofenac treat the the same problem?
-
Angle, Diclofenac sodium and flurbiprofen are both classified as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents. In veterinary medicine, diclofenac sodium topical eye solution is used as a pre surgical aid, for the treatment of uveitis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eye) following surgery on the eye(s), for other causes of uveitis, and for eye inflammation post cataract extraction. Flurbiprofen, in comparison, is available as a topical eye solution that is used in veterinary medicine as a pre surgical aid prior to eye surgery. Both medications are dosed similarly prior to eye surgery, however diclofenac has been dosed effectively post surgically as well for up to two weeks. Diclofenac topical eye solution is available with a prescription and is supplied as a 0.1% solution. Flurbiprofen topical eye solution is also available with a prescription and is supplied as a 0.03% solution. You should consult with your pet’s veterinarian to help determine information on appropriate dosing, if these medications are appropriate in certain species, and to obtain a prescription if appropriate which would be best for your pet’s needs.
