Q & A

I need to use this on my dogs nose wrinkles. Should I dry the folds after using the wipes? I heard leaving moisture in the folds can be bad... but I want to make sure the cleaner does its job.?
-
MalAcetic Wet Wipes contain acetic acid and boric acid as the active ingredients. These ingredients have antibacterial and antifungal properties. They also have a drying effect on the skin. Due to the drying effect of the active ingredients, you do not need to worry about drying the wrinkles after each use. Additionally, you may remove some of the beneficial effect if you dry the area. The wipes can be somewhat irritating to the skin, especially if there is already some irritation in the wrinkles. Please discuss the use of these wipes with your veterinarian before purchasing them just to make sure that they are the best choice for your dog. Your veterinarian will want to monitor your dog's nose wrinkles if there is any sign of infection. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Hi. I am using CLX wipes prescribed by the vet for the folds of skin inside my dogs lips but not past the gum line. Will these do the same thing.?
-
These wipes are used for the same purpose, but they do not contain the same ingredients as the CLX wipes you describe. These wipes contain 2% of acetic and boric acid which are used as a skin disinfectant. The CLX wipes contain chlorhexidine, a skin disinfectant, and climbazole which is an antifungal. We recommend you contact your veterinarian to determine if these would be an adequate substitute. Thank you, VetRxDirect

MalAcetic HC Wipes have the added ingredient hydrocortisone that will help alleviate inflammation. If the burning is associated with inflammation, the Malacetic Wet Wipes may not work as well.
