Works for rash
This is the only medication that clears up the rash my cat gets on her chin. Her vet and I have been trying to figure out what my cat is allergic to, with little success. However, this medication clears the rash within a few days and eases the itchiness.

Mupirocin Ointment
My vet recommended this ointment for my dogs skin irritations and sores. It is Rx so I had to wait for my vet and Vetrxdirect to get it together and get the ointment out. Took a very long time, so I was dissapointed in that. Product fine.

Worked great, a cream would be better.
From undisclosedComments about Mupirocin Topical Ointment, 2%Cleared up my dogs skin quickly (in one or two treatments). I just wish it came in a cream. If you have a hairy dog, I suggest trimming the fur as much as possible before applying. A little goes a long way. -

Works great, nice sized tube of ointment
From undisclosedComments about Mupirocin Topical Ointment, 2%Works great for my dog's rash that she tends to get every summer. Makes it go away in just a few days instead if weeks of antibiotics. It was cultured and came back as MRSA so it's great to find an ointment that helps her. -

I have mupirocin prescribed to me (at a higher dose) for my use. One of my cats like to groom me. If he licks my face while I have it on, will he be okay??
-
Mupirocin Topical Ointment is meant for application to the skin only and is not meant to be ingested. The manufacturers of Mupirocin Ointment, Taro and Dechra, do not have any information regarding accidental ingestion because it was studied for topical use only. The manufacturers recommend not to let your cat lick/groom your face. If that is not possible, they recommend at least preventing the cat from licking/grooming your face until the product has fully absorbed and your face is dry. It is recommended that you contact your veterinarian with any further questions regarding this medication in your cat.

Can I use the human version on a 3 week old puppy??
-
Product: Muricin Ointment Question: Can I use the human version on a 3 week old puppy? Both products do contain the same active ingredient (mupirocin 2%). Attempting to use this medication without the approval of your veterinarian will delay the time to proper diagnosis and treatment. Using the wrong medication or the incorrect dose and duration can lead to problems such as worsening infection and antimicrobial resistance. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Muricin is FDA-approved for treatment of bacterial infections in dogs. Unfortunately, safety of use in pregnant or breeding animals has not been determined for this medication.
