Great for giving pills!
Our 12 y/o golden takes daily joint supplements, and since discovering Neat Treats, it's no longer the messy, cumbersome production w/peanut butter it used to be. Pills easily slide inside, we no longer skip a dose, and dog loves them!

Not the tastiest
I reviewed previously, but since then my cats have completely turned up their noses at these treats. What I do like them for is pilling. I cut up my boy's plavix into quarters, and, since they taste absolutely awful if bitten, I put them in a capsule. To keep the size small I only use the small end of a capsule and then "plug" the end with a piece of this treat. It's more rubbery than pill dough or a pill pocket, so it doesn't soften the pill inside. I push it as far as it will go using the capsule kind of like a cookie cutter on a flattened piece of this treat - it squishes around the cut tablet and on top of it. The capsule is then stiff and the end plugged. I wrap this little gem in my boy's favorite pill dough and we're set. :) (Yes, a bit of work in front of the tv, but worth it to not have to pill him or bite into a nasty tasting pill).

Cats Love 'Em
From Mt. Royal, NJComments about Neat Treats Soft ChewsAll four of my cats were very enthusiastic about these, even my fellow who isn't normally big on treats. I like that they aren't as easily scarfed as some of the smaller treats - the cats had to actually take some time to eat these, which some cats may find frustrating but I really like in particular for slowing down my girls, who usually practically inhale treats. -

My cat likes them - and I can sneak his pill in there too!
From WiscComments about Neat Treats Soft ChewsThese aren't the typical 'semi-moist' treats, they really can hide a pill. After I saw what other reviewers wrote I knew I needed to try. My sweet kiddo takes 9 pills a day, and we get pretty creative with pockets and things to roll them in. Twice a day I sneak in these treats. You can smoosh it and wrap it back around... Not gummy, but not crumbly either. My other cats will take them or leave them, so they aren't irresistible, but if I squish in some tuna flakes or chicken crumbles nobody's going to argue :) -
Good stuff
From South FloridaComments about Neat Treats Soft ChewsI received my first bag of Neat Treats from my neighbor. My dog absolutely loves them and I use them for treats. Also, They also make giving a pill very easy. Just wrap the treat around the pill and presto, the dog eats it no questions asked. I bought an entire case and Gave them to my friends for their dogs. They are an excellent value. -

Molly's Favorite
From TexasComments about Neat Treats Soft ChewsNeat Treats are our Shih Tzu's favorite treat. We can't purchase it from the local pet stores and can't count on our local vet having them, so we purchase a stock pile of them on line. -

Great treat and pill hider
From NJ, USAComments about Neat Treats Soft ChewsBought these after getting a sample from my vet. My pet had to take antibiotics for 9 weeks along with 3 pain pills after surgery to remove an infected implant. We tried everything possible to get her to take her meds and we're running out of options. These treats were soft enough to hide a pill in and she loves then. No more problems! -

The Neat Treats I just received have such a strong lavender or medicine smell to them that my dog won't even touch them. He loves these treats and I have bought lots of bags in the past and they were fine. Do you know if something changed with these??

How long do these stay fresh!? I want to buy in bulk but don't want them to go bad. What do you suggest.?
-
Unfortunately, the bags do not have expiration dates on them. We have tried to contact the manufacturer but they could not provide that information either. Generally, with other treats we carry, the expiration is around a year. Thank you, VetRxDirect
