Incredible value!
Our vet charged $35 for 20. We got 180 for $65 here. Our Boston is on this medication long term so I searched every online pet pharmacy and VetRXDirect has the absolute best price on Novox (carprofen). Thank you for the fast shipping and probably one of the easiest orders I've ever placed. Will definitely order again!

From New HampshireComments about Novox (carprofen) CapletsEasy from start to finish! They contacted my vet for the RX, and the meds arrived on my doorstep. Couldn't ask for anything different! -
The novox seems to be working well.
From Sherman, tXComments about Novox (carprofen) CapletsSince Novox comes in caplet form, as opposed to a chewable, I have to put it in something to get it down my dog. Really not a problem, especially since it's less than half the cost of Rimadyl. -
The price is oh so right!!
From WAComments about Novox (carprofen) CapletsI administer manually into my dog's mouth since she is very clever at picking pills out of food. But since the chew-able brand is so expensive and not affordable for me, I have no problem with administering this way. She is 10 years old and very arthritic so she does very well having an anti inflammatory in her system. -
Worked well.

My vet prescribes carprofen 25 mg, 1/2 tab every 12 hours. Is this caplet scored for easier splitting of the caplet? Thanks?
-
Carprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) commonly used to reduce pain and swelling. Carprofen 25 mg tablets that are manufactured by Putney, Vedco, Norbrook, Vetoquinol and Nutramax are all scored for easier splitting.

Are these chewable??
-
The Novox brand of caplets are not chewable. However, they can be crushed and mixed with a small amount of food. Do not mix with large amounts of food as some of the medication may not be eaten. There are also other brands of carprofen that come available in chewable tablets.

Is this the same as the chewables which cost more?
-
Carprofen is a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) that helps to relieve pain and inflammation in dogs and other small animals. Carprofen is available under a variety of brand names including Novox, Rimadyl, Vetprofen, quellin, and Norocarp. Your pet will receive the same dose of carprofen whether he or she takes it as a chewable tablet or a caplet. The active ingredient is the same, but the appearance of the caplets differs from the appearance of the chewable. The chewables do appear to be a bit more costly, but many people find this worthwhile as it can be easier to give their pet the medication this way. Your veterinarian will be a helpful resource when deciding whether the caplets or the chewable tablets are best for your pet. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Are these Novox pills chewable with a flavor the dog will like, or will I have to force feed this to my dog??
-
Novox brand caplets are available in a solid dosage form that is not a soft, chewable or flavored medication. Novox may be crushed and given with food, however this may increase the likelihood of giving an inaccurate dose. Carprofen, the active ingredient in Novox caplets is available in a chewable form. Speak to your veterinarian and ask if a chewable dosage form of carprofen would be appropriate for your dog. Thank you, VetRxDirect

i break up the tablet and put it in the dogs food. Is that ok??
-
Novox caplets are still effective if crushed and administered with food. Please note that administering medications this way increases the likelihood of inaccurate dosing, as some of the medication may go uneaten. Speak with your veterinarian on this issue. They may be able to provide a recommendation for an alternative dosage form of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Novox. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Our vet has given us a written Rx for "Rimdyl 75mg (60 ct)" for our Anatolian Shephard, Baby. Can I order the cheaper generic brand of carprofen using the same script??
-
Yes, as long as they are chewable tablets and the script does not say "no substitutions". Thank you, VetRxDirect

About a month ago when I first visited your site the 75 mg 60 count was $33.49. Today it is $47.99! Why the tremendous increase in price? ?
-
Friz, I think you were looking at the generic Carprofen caplets which are $33.49 for the 75mg 60 count. The price for the Novox caplets have not changed in quite awhile. Thank you, VetRxDirect

What are the possible side effects of novox ??
-
Dilyn, The manufacturer states that adverse effects appear to be uncommon with carprofen use in animals, but they can occur. Mild gastrointestinal effects (diarrhea and vomiting), increased thirst, increased urination, loss of appetite, and lethargy are the most likely to occur but at a low incidence (<2%). Rarely, serious side-effects include hepatocellular damage or renal disease. Tell your pet’s veterinarian about any unusual or noticeable side effects when using this medication.
