From UndisclosedComments about Ondansetron (Generic)A must-have med prescribed by my cat's doc that keeps his pancreatitis at bay; this little pill is a life-saver for my little guy. If you've ever had a cat who was a vomiter, or that's been diagnosed with pancreatitis, you know what I mean. It's very hard to see them in such discomfort-this medication is truly a blessing. VetRxDirect has always been very responsive and efficient in processing my prescription orders. Thank you guys! -

Q & A

Why is my 12.5 month olds shepard mix's rear leaking gold fluid, liquid. The only other medication he is taking is prednisone.?
-
Ondansetron does not cause this side effect. Prednisone may increase the risk of a stomach ulcer, which then could lead to dark, tarry stools. Prednisone may also elevate your dog's liver enzymes, which then could lead to clay-colored stools. However, neither drug should result in gold color liquid discharge from your dog. It is recommend to contact your veterinarian for any additional questions on concerns.

My question is how far ahead of a meal should onedestron be given. My dog was prescribed this by his specialist for not eating breakfast and vomiting. How far ahead of breakfast should I be giving this to him so he will eat and not walk away from his food. As of now I've been giving it to him 1 1/2 hours before breakfast and dinner. Is this OK or should it be given closer to his meal.?
-
It would be ok to give closer to meal time because ondansetron should work within 30 minutes.

Does the tablet dissolve on the tongue, or does it have to be swallowed??
-
The ondansetron tablets that are listed on vetrxdirect.com need to be swallowed. They will not dissolve on the tongue like ondansetron ODT (orally disintegrating tablets).
