Saving my dog Chloe!
My dog Chloe was diagnosed with a heart base tumor with lung metastasis. We began Palladia chemo treatments with some additional herbal supplements as well about 6 weeks ago. We just had another x-ray done following six weeks of treatments. Chloe's largest lung tumor has shrunk by almost 50%. The others are no longer visible on x-ray. The only side effect she's experienced is lethargy on the days she takes this - M, W, and F. Other than that, she's her regular 14 year old self!

Not for all dogs
Unfortunately our dog always found a way to spit these out, and the tablets cannot be crushed or chewed or liquefied so not suited for hiding in food. Not sure whether it is an effective medicine

Cancer Treatment
From Northfield, IL, USAComments about Palladia (toceranib phosphate)Scout, our 10.5 y/o Lab, has been fighting a tumor since last May. His first chemo medication was Mitozantron. He did well for a few months but then his tumor started to grow again. Palladia has stabilized his tumor again. We started him a few weeks ago. His only side effect is diarrhea, but that's improved with medication. Keeping our fingers crossed we have Scout with us a little longer! -
Absolutely the best prices!
From Martinez, CA, USAComments about Palladia (toceranib phosphate)Palladia is a VERY expensive drug and VetRx has, without a doubt, the best prices. I have found only two online phamacies that even carry Palladia. It is a tough drug to find and was thrilled when I found VetRx. The ordering and shipping process have been excellent. Bailey, our Yellow Lab had a mast cell tumor removed from her muzzle when she was 11.5 years old. She was put on Palladia, then anther chemo drug, then back on and off Palladia. She will be 14 in January! -
Quick Service
From UndisclosedComments about Palladia (toceranib phosphate)I needed to order Palladia and VetRXDirect was great. There was an issue between getting the faxes to and from my vet, so they were great in making sure everything went fine with the order. VetRXDirect was gracious enough to make sure the order went through and sent it out quickly. I received the order within a few days. The only thing bad was there was a hole in the bag when I got it in the mail. I'm sure it was the post office's fault, but maybe the bags could be a little more padded. I'm just glad the meds I ordered didn't fall out during the delivery process. Thanks VetRXDirect for making this an easy order. Animals with cancer is stressful enough. -
Great price!

Q & A
-
In the past how long did a 13 pound cat with throat cancer take 10 mg of PALLADIA daily to treat the tumor??
-
Palladia is a FDA approved chemotherapy medication used to treat mast cell tumors in dogs and is used extra-label or off-label in cats. This medication can be used for different lengths of time due to each pet responding differently to Palladia treatment. According to the manufacturer, regular check ups by your veterinarian are necessary to determine whether your cat is responding as expected, and to decide whether your cat should continue to receive Palladia. Therefore, it is recommended that you speak with your veterinarian as they can best determine the length of time your cat will need to be on Palladia based upon lab work and your cat’s health

Can Palladia be given the same time as Tagamet? What about Prendisone??
-
Coadministration of Palladia with drugs that are strong inhibitors of the CYP3A4 family of enzymes have the potential to increase Palladia concentrations. Cimetidine, the active drug found in Tagamet, is considered to be an inhibitor of CYP3A4. It was shown in a small study based on a limited number of dogs that the administration of Palladia with cimetidine did not appear to affect the clearance of Palladia. Your veterinarian may recommend starting a drug like cimetidine a few days prior to starting Palladia. Corticosteroids such as prednisone, were also shown not to have obvious reported problems when administered in brief courses concomitantly with Palladia. Follow the directions and recommended monitoring schedule from your veterinarian when administering Palladia to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Yes, we do ship to commercial addresses. Because the tablets are counted per order, we typically do not ship the unopened bottles.

I'd like to order Palladia from South Korea. Is it possible to place an order with a Korean veterinarian's prescription? The prescription will be written in English. Please reply.?
-
VetRxDirect is not licensed to fill orders for shipment outside of the United States. This includes direct shipments and orders sent to addresses within the United States that are then being shipped outside the United States. For this reason, we cannot accept prescriptions from veterinarians licensed outside of the United States.

My oncologist recommends that my dog start taking Palladia to treat his mast cell tumor. However, they claim that only they can dispense the medication and won't give me a prescription. Has anyone encountered this before??
-
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, it is recommended to discuss your options for obtaining a prescription with your veterinarian. When discussing these options, it is important to mention that you wish to obtain a prescription to fill it elsewhere. In order for VetRxDirect to dispense this medication, a valid prescription is needed.

My 13 year old cat has been taking Palladia for 2 months for his cancer by his veterinarian. How long is it safe for him to receive this? He is also receiving Prednisolone.?
-
Palladia is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used to treat certain types of cancers including mast cell tumors. It works by killing tumor cells and by cutting off the blood supply to the tumor. Because each pet responds differently to this medication, the length of treatment is best determined by your veterinarian through routine appointments and lab work. Palladia can interact with other medications, including over the counter drugs, so you should take care to consult your pet's veterinarian before giving any new medications or if you notice any problems. Thank you, VetRxDirect

When will you get more in stock. Are you out of stock frequently??
-
Yes, we run out of this medication frequently. This medication is on a very limited supply and goes on back orders with the manufacturer frequently. They supply veterinarians with supply first and then pharmacies so we are only able to get more every few months. As soon as we are able to get more in stock, we will update the website. Thank you, VetRxDirect
