What is PancreVed for Dogs and Cats?
- PancreVed relieves the symptoms of Pancreatic Insufficiency Disorder (PID) in dogs and cats. PID is also known as EPI, or Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency.
- This prescription medication replaces the pancreatic enzymes that your dog or cat doesn’t produce but needs to digest the protein, sugar, and fat in food.
- This medication is also fortified with vitamins A, D and E to provide an additional health boost for your pet.
Why do cats and dogs use PancreVed?
- Dogs and cats with maldigestion, or Pancreatic Insufficiency Disorder (PID)/ Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), suffer from weight loss, discomfort, and hair loss because they can’t properly digest the nutrients in food.
- The condition shuts down the pancreas, which produces digestive enzymes.
- PancreVed replaces those enzymes so that your pet can digest needed proteins, sugars, and fats from food.
What else should I know about PancreVed?
- Improves digestion and nutrition absorption in pets with PID/ EPI.
- Fast acting.
- Powder form mixes easily with food.
- Pancreatic enzymes made from a pork product.
- With vitamins A, D and E.
What problems could my dog or cat have with PancreVed?
- Cats often do not like the taste of the pancreatic enzymes powder and may be more likely to take tablets or capsules made from crushed tablets. Some cats also may eat one brand of enzymes and not another. Talk to your veterinarian if you are having trouble with medicating your cat.
How do you use PancreVed?
- PancreVed works best when mixed with food and food is allowed to sit before feeding. Always follow your veterinarian's directions for use.
- If using tablets, make sure that your cat or dog gets water or food right after taking the tablets. This may reduce the risk of damage to the esophagous.
- Avoid inhaling powder as it may cause lung irritation or worsen asthma.
- Avoid contacting your skin with the powder. Wash any powder from your skin as soon as possible.
What is in PancreVed?
- PancreVed contains pancreatic enzymes that break down the nutrients in food.
- These enzymes typically come from pork sources.
Will I get what I see in the picture?
- PancreVed is a brand name. You will receive the exact brand that you request.
Is it important for my dog or cat to finish all of the PancreVed?
- Dogs and cats may use PancreVed for different lengths of time. Please consult your veterinarian if you have any questions.

Well worth every penny!
From UndisclosedComments about PancreVed Powder, 12ozOur vet recommended this Rx because our dog has been struggling with reoccurring bouts of pancreatitis despite the prescription canned foods and extremely bland diet she's been on. This medication turned her around in a matter of days. Literally within a few days we noticed a significant improvement in her stools and energy level. Needless to stay, she will remain on this medication for a very long time.-

Made our cat healthy again!
From UndisclosedComments about PancreVed Powder, 8ozGreat product that was recommended by our vet for our older cat who was not digesting food properly and losing weight and muscle mass. Now even at 16 years old he is healthy, his fur is shiny again, and his weight is back to normal. **Be sure to mix PancreVed powder into canned food 15-20 minutes before pet eats for it to be effective.** -

Much Healthier Cat Now
From UndisclosedComments about PancreVedThis product really seems to be helping my cat and prolonging his life. Despite eating a normal amount of good, he had begun losingbweight 4 years ago and looked emaciated with dull fur and a noticeably prominent backbone. After blood tests by my vet, she recommended this medication which has seemed to definitely help return my now 16 year old cat to much better health! BE SURE TO MIX THIS MEDICINE INTO CANNED FOOD 15-20 MINUTES BEFORE SERVING FOR IT TO BE EFFECTIVE!!

Q & A

Our current dog has been on this medicine for a long time now and we are thinking of adding one more dog to our family but we are unsure the risks of what would happen if the new dog got ahold of the food with the medicine in it. We do not want to harm the new dog with the medicine in the food so we aren't sure if it's safe to get another one or not :(?
-
Medications should only be given to the animal they were prescribed for. It is also important to ensure the dog being treated is getting the full dose prescribed. Feeding dogs in separate rooms may be helpful. The safety of an accidental ingestion would depend on the individual dog’s allergies and/or health conditions. You can come up with a plan with your veterinarian on what to do if this does occur.

My veterinarian has me crushing tablets and mixing it with wet food and waiting 20 minutes; however, my geriatric dog is refusing to eat wet food at this time. Can I put the tablets in pill pockets instead and give them to him that way prior to eating??
-
The manufacturer indicates that the tablets can be given whole, such as in pill pockets. However, please consult your veterinarian about this new issue. Thoroughly mixing the crushed tablets with wet food brings the enzymes in the tablets into close contact with the food particles that your dog inadequately digests. Incubating the mixture at room temperature for 20 minutes allows the enzymes in the tablets to start breaking down the proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Your veterinarian can advise you on the best treatment options for your dog’s current health and habits.

One tsp of powder has a much higher concentration of ingredients than one tablet, but dosages are one tsp of powder or one tablet. Can you explain why? I want to make sure I give correct dosage if I switch to tablets for my cat. Thank you.?
-
PancreVed is available as both powder and tablets. The manufacturer recommended dose of powder is Dogs - 3/4-1 teaspoon, Cats- 1/4-3/4 teaspoon, before each meal. The manufacturer recommended dose for tablets is Dogs - 2-3 tablets, Cats - 1/2-1 tablet, before each meal. Contact your veterinarian regarding dosing in your specific case. Your veterinarian knows more specific information about your cat and will be able to make an informed and appropriate recommendation.

My dog is used to take 1 PancreVed per day. I want to know the expiry date of the tablets as I am not sure if I should buy 100 tablets or 500 tablets.?
-
I would like to make treats for my dog by mixing the PancreVed with his food and then immediately freezing bite sized portions, perhaps in an ice cube tray. Does freezing affect the medicine in any way??
-
PancreVed consists of enzymes which are large proteins to help digest the nutrients in food. Enzymes, like other proteins, get their properties from their shapes. Anything that disrupts the shape of an enzyme (including boiling and/or freezing) may make it inactive. Please contact your veterinarian for additional questions or concerns.

Hello my dog was recently prescribed this medication. She has taken it for four days now. She still continues to have the same stool problems with very loose, pale and oily stool. Is this common for her to still experience this after three days? Does it usually take longer to see results??
-
Your dog's continuing diarrhea can have many causes including the medication not working for your pet, too large of a dose, and a diet too high in fats. Please contact your veterinarian to determine the best treatment option for your dog.

My 17 year old cat has been diagnosed with EPI. He would not eat wet food with powder mixed in so we had to switch to tablets. Initially we had a few solid stools then the diarrhea resumed. We are giving 1/2 tab three times per day (the minimum dose). Could this dose be too much and therefore causing the on-going diarrhea or perhaps not enough causing the on-going diarrhea? Also, he has developed a large amount of congestion in his nose and eyes plus sneezing and coughing. Could this be some sort of reaction to the medicine (allergic or otherwise)? Our vet has suggested doubling the meds to 1 tab three times per day, but we are fearful to do so as he is already so sick and weights only 7 pounds (down from 15 pounds). PLEASE let me know what you think in regards to dosing and possible sensibility to product. THANKS!!!?
-
Diarrhea is a common symptom of Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency as well as a side effect of the medication itself. We recommend you contact your vet, they would be able to assess your pet's needs for dosing of this product and assess the symptoms to determine if the medication is working, or needs to be changed or added to.

My cat does not eat the food with the pancreved powder on it. Can we mix the powder in water and feed to him with a syringe??
-
Unfortunately, the manufacture does not recommend that because the pancreved breaks down the food so that the cat can digest the food better. There are pills available that you can use instead of the powder. You would give ½-1 tablets by mouth with every meal. Please this discuss this alternative with your veterinarian.
