Helping my dog with his anxiety
From UndisclosedComments about Paroxetine (Generic)I honestly haven't seen major differences in his mood/activity, but he is a bit calmer now. He has some anxieties when certain situations happen but overall he is better about calming down quickly. The bottle does state to use a glove when handling this medication which is great because the first time I received this medication from my local pharmacy they failed to mention the side effects if you do not use a glove when handling the medication. There seems to be a terrible taste to the medication so my dog spits it out. So instead of trying to force it down his throat, I take some peanut butter and roll the medication into a ball. He has no problems eating a little ball of peanut butter :D -

I will always buy my pet medications here!
From UndisclosedComments about Paroxetine (Generic)Our dog, Macy, was started on Paroxetine in late Feb for extreme anxiety. She is doing amazing and is now a happy and playful pup. Buying through VetRxDirect provided a great cost savings when compared to what we paid for the same medicine at the vet's office. Thank you for that!!!!-

Is it okay to use with homeopathic Anxietrex? My vet approved this, but has now added paroxetine 5 mg. She seems a bit sedated from this. I do not give them at the same time. I give the paroxetine in the morninfg around 8:30 and the Anxietrex around 12:30. Maybe I should give the Anxietrex at the evening meal??
-
There is currently no data to state that an interaction exists between paroxetine and Anxietrex in pets, but since Anxietrex is a homeopathic supplement there is the possibility of an interaction since the process of producing Anxietrex is not regulated by the FDA. Paroxetine has been reported to cause sedation in humans so it is possible that this drug is part of the reason your pet seems sedated. It may be wise to give the paroxetine at the evening meal and see how that affects your pet. If you have further concerns about a potential drug interaction, contact your veterinarian.
