My dog's energy is back!
From Arkansas, USAComments about Salix (furosemide)We have been using Salix for almost 3 years for our 12 year old "puppy", Porker. Our vet prescribed it, to help with his heart condition, which is prevalent in the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed. After about 2 months on Salix, he was back to his energetic and gregarious self. We highly recommend Salix.-

If my does not eat ! Any suggestions for increasing appetite?

You could try putting the Salix tablet inside of your dog's favorite food (e.g. peanut butter, chicken, braunschweiger, etc). Make sure the dog eats all the food given. Please contact your veterinarian with additional questions or concerns.

Is this the same as lasix 12.5 mg??

Salix is a veterinary labeled brand name of furosemide, and Lasix is the human labeled brand name of furosemide. The active ingredient (furosemide) in these medications are equivalent to each other.

What is the difference between Salix 12.5 and generic furosemide 1.5? My vet now gives me "furosemide" 12.5 as generic "Lasix".?
-
Salix is the brand name product of furosemide approved for use in dogs. Lasix is another brand name product of furosemide approved for use in humans. There should be no difference in the products besides who they are manufactured by and the strengths they are available in. Thank you, VetRxDirect

I picked up a new prescription of Furosemide 50 mg tablets that are a different color and shape than before. These have 50 and 239 imprinted on the tablet where the previous tabs were oblong not round as these new ones are. Are these okay to give my dog?
-
Yes, the new pills you got are probably from a different manufacturer. A lot of times pharmacies get pills form multiple manufacturers and the pills are not always the same shape or color. Thank you, VetRxDirect
