Good effect at reasonable cost
From undisclosedComments about TraZODONE (Generic)Our Golden Retriever is 12 years old. She suffers from anxiety attacks which get particularly bad when the atmospheric pressure suddenly drops with or without approaching thunderstorms. I have her on 50mg daily and increase the dose to 100mg in storms. Side effect: she is getting a bit sleepy. -
Excellent service.

Trazodone has been a life changer
From undisclosedComments about TraZODONE (Generic)My 4 year old Golden Retriever has suffered with anxiety issues since he was a young puppy. His Veterinarian said he is not hardwired right. He has been on Trazodone for a couple of years and it has made a huge difference. He is able to get through a walk in the neighborhood without panicking when a dog barks at him. He no longer hides when we have a thunderstorm or when the wind is howling. He can ride in the car without a complete breakdown and trying to scratch his way out of the floor. His overall mental health has improved tremendously with the Trazodone and it has been a life changer for our family. We tried other medications and none of them came close to the Trazodone. I would highly recommend Trazodone for dogs with anxiety! -

100% satisfied
From undisclosedComments about TraZODONE (Generic)Not many pharmacies carry this online for dogs. Works well for my elderly dachshund who is deaf and blind and doesn't sleep well. No anxious effects like we had with acepromazine. Consult your vet for the best solution. -

Did the trick
From undisclosedComments about TraZODONE (Generic)This has really helped our dog, who was having anxiety and panic attacks late at night, with panting, trembling, and basically sitting on top of us. I tried several natural remedies, distractions and behavioral modification tricks, (examples - pheromone spray, frozen Kong stuffed with peanut butter) for a couple of weeks, to no avail, before taking him to the vet for complete blood work, which came back very healthy. We also have always taken our dogs out for a daily 2-mile walk. Our dog has always been a bit of a quirky and anxious type dog, whom we love, but the vet thinks with age, it got somewhat worse. Note to pet owners; it did take a couple of weeks for the medicine to take, along with dosage and timing. Our dog is 11 years old, 60 lbs and he takes half in the morning, half in the afternoon and half to one at night. After some trial and error, that seemed to do the trick. Every now and then, he does need the whole pill at night when he displays signs of night time anxiety, but thankfully no more panting and trembling. -
As stated
From MaineComments about TraZODONE (Generic)The vet recommended this for my dog when fluoxetine wasn't enough to manage his fearfulness, panic attacks, and reactivity. It has been helpful.

Unfortunately, a pharmacy is not able to make a recommendation for your pet without the direct involvement of your veterinarian. Your veterinarian has the most current medical history for your pet and is best suited to make the proper recommendation. What would be the correct dosage for an 85 pound dog??
-
Usually the dose of trazodone ranges from 2-5 mg/kg by mouth as needed (usually every 8-24 hours) or administered as a single dose 1 hour prior to an anticipated event that may trigger anxiety. The dose should be started on the low side (2mg/kg) and worked up gradually to higher doses. Consult your veterinarian to determine if trazodone is right for your dog and the correct dosing.
