Does tri-heart plus protect against tape worm??
-
Tri-Heart Plus contains two antiparasitic agents called ivermectin and pyrantel pamoate. Ivermectin is indicated in dogs for the prevention of heartworm while pyrantel pamoate is used for protection against hookworms and roundworms. Neither of these ingredients are indicated for protection against tapeworms. Some other heartworm preventatives are supplied as combination products, containing ingredients that will provide protection against tapeworms. As there are many options in the treatment of tapeworms, we recommend speaking with your veterinarian to determine which product would best suit your pet's needs. Thank you, VetRxDirect

Can I give my 52lb dog the tablets for dogs 26-50lbs? Or do I have to give her the 50-100lb tablet??
-
Heartworm medications should be prescribed and given as directed by the manufacturer. A 52 pound dog should get the 50-100 pound dose. Please talk with your dog's veterinarian for more information.

I gave my dog his first Tri-heart plus pill on November 20th. I need to give him a pill for December, which has past. Is it alright to give him the pill now or do I need to have him re-tested. What is the time frame that is acceptable between dosages??
-
For Tri-Heart Plus to be as effective as possible, the chewable tablet must be given once per month or every 30 days. If the time between doses exceeds 30 days, the medication’s effectiveness in preventing heartworm can be reduced. Giving your pet his next dose of Tri-Heart Plus as soon as you realized that the optimal date has passed can help reduce the opportunity for the development of heartworms. Also, please consult your veterinarian regarding having your pet re-tested for heartworms.
