Hopefully it works
Update to first review. Still don't know how well it works of fleas because we don't leave for 2 days, will update when we get back. Upon suggestion from the vet I fed my dogs first and let the food settle for about 20 minutes. I had to cut the tablet in fourths. The tablet is huge and smells. I have a dog that will eat anything and he won't touch this. After trying to camouflage it in some leftovers, it didn't work they can smell the tablet. I had to force the pieces down by hand. Next time I will just cut it in 1/2 and force it down. There was no vomiting this time thank goodness.

Waiting to see if it works
Both my dogs vomited after taking it. One I had to redose because it has to stay in their system for an hour to be effective. Not sure how effective it is yet because we haven't gone to an area where there's mosquitoes or fleas. This was given as a prevention for a vacation will update afterwards.

From UndisclosedComments about Trifexis for Dogs 20.1-40 lbs, 6 Month Supplymy dog loves the taste, she thinks it's a treat, We've never had issues with heartworm, fleas or tick since we started using trifexis. Purchasing it from Vet RX direct was very easy. They contacted my vet for prescriptions and everything was handled from their side. -

Excellent flea and heart worm protection
From Midland, NCComments about TrifexisWith 4 Shelties on Trifexis, we have NEVER had any fleas or heartworms. Also, none of our dogs have ever experienced any side effects. We make sure they have food in their stomach before dosing. The only drawback is that the tablet is large and smells medicinal, so our dogs won't readily eat it as a treat or mixed in their food. I cut each pill and cover it with honey, then place it on the back of their tongue. It's a bit of a production, but so worth the protection Trifexis gives them. -
No heart worms
From UndisclosedComments about TrifexisShe stays free of flees, ticks and most importantly heart worms. -
It works in Hawaii
From UndisclosedComments about TrifexisThis one is effective in Hawaii. Fleas are still a huge potential problem here. It works. Hes just over 10 lbs so Im going to consider a 5 to 10 lb dose next time. Even though he ate well with the dose he was a little sleepy for a day. It made ne think the lower dosage might work next time I order.-

Buying from VetRxDirect
From undisclosedComments about TrifexisMy vet quit selling the med's for my dog so I had to find another place to obtain what I wanted and I ran across VetRxDirect. Their price was good so I ordered some Trifexis from them. Had to get a prescription from my vet in order for them to sell me the Trifexis which was no problem. All I had to do was give them my vet's name and phone & fax number and they basicily did it for me and on the way my order came and it arrived in a short time. Would recommend them to anyone else needing something that they need but maybe can't get from their vet. My vet is a 75 mile round trip and if I had known, I might just have ordered from them before instead of going to my vet's. I only take my dog once a year to get her shots and test done, so that would save me some green that I spend on gas. -
Easy and fast
From undisclosedComments about TrifexisI think we just found our new Rx home. The order process was easy and quick.

Q & A

If Trifexis is killing round worms, shouldn't, we see dead worms in stool? Should we be seeing lots of VERY active living worms in stool??
-
Trifexis is indicated to treat and control intestinal parasite infections of adult hookworms, roundworms and whipworms in dogs. In occasional cases, it is possible that you might see intestinal worms being expelled in your dog’s stool, this means Trifexis is working. According to the manufacturer you may notice live worms for the following reasons: There can be segments of worms that are moving which is okay and a good sign, a lack of adherence, or a presence of a different type of worm that the medication does not treat. If you have further questions, please consult your veterinarian for measures you can take to prevent a reinfection of intestinal parasites.

How long does trifexis take to work on worms?
-
This medication has effects on more than one type of parasite. According to Plumb’s Veterinary Drug Handbook, parasites inside your animal's body begin to die within 1 to 2 days, while most parasites on the skin will begin to die within 24 hours. For this medication to protect your animal against infection by heartworms and intestinal parasites, it must be given monthly.

my dog weighs 11 lbs, should I get the rx for 5-10 lb? Since she's closer to 10 lb, would it be safer than giving her that dosage rather than for a 20 lb dog. Your thoughts??
