This stuff works!
From Twin Cities MNComments about Vetericyn VF Plus Antimicrobial Wound and Skin CleanserThis is the fourth time we've bought Vetericyn VF. We've used it on most of our cats and dogs. The occasional wound prophylaxis, a tooth extraction site, etc. The wife and I also use it on us. I've carefully tested this stuff, I was initially kinda dubious, and it's -proven- itself to us. For example, given the same size of bloody scratches from cat claws, some treated with alcohol, some with OTC antibiotic cream, and some with Vetericyn, the Vetericyn worked best. The wound healed ~10% faster, and it never stings. When our animals have an owie, they have no complaint when we apply some Vetericyn a few times/day. Those that don't like the spray action have no problems with V.-soaked gauze. We can spray it orally, it helps there as well. It has a very mild taste, not unpleasant, never had an animal react badly to the taste. Well, it's late, I'm tired, and I'd best stop here. The ol' lady and I trust this stuff, it -works-. We use it on ourselves, even on irritated skin in intimate areas, and we've never had ANY problems or discomfort, only healing. The maker and sellers -do not- promote, recommend or sell Vetericyn VF for human use, and I'm not recommending it either. I'm saying only that it's been safe and effective for the two of us, and most importantly, for every cat or dog we've used it on. I'm sure it's equally good for all sort of other critters, large and small(except maybe fish.) -

Open wound treatment
From Sherman, TX, USAComments about Vetericyn VF Plus Antimicrobial Wound and Skin CleanserI bought this 2 months ago to sanitize my dogs open wound post Hemangioma surgery. The surgeon removed a tumor/cyst like growth which appeared suddenly in three days on the inside of her right front paw. The surgeon attempted to stitch the wound closed but the stitches failed twice. The decision was made to allow the dogs body and recovery system to heal the wound from the inside out and to fill the hole left from surgery. Surgery was performed on April 22nd 2015. I am writing this review on June 3rd, 2015. The wound has almost completely healed. I continue to change the wound dressing daily. Originally had changed the dressing 3x per day, now only once daily. I used the Vetericyn to sanitize the open wound each time I changed the dressing. It was easy to spray Vetericyn on the open wound. The liquid did NOT irritate the surrounding tissue nor did it startle or hurt my dog. I have recently had a small pencil diameter sized squamous cell carcinoma removed from my lower leg. I am using Vetericyn in the same manner I treated my dogs open wound. I spray Vetericyn directly on the wound and cover with a non stick pad held in place with two bandaids. I feel no discomfort using the spray and am convinced my wound is sanitized and kept free of infection just like as used on my dog.-

Is this a gel or a liquid. The Google search said "gel", but I do not see that on the package label.?
-
Vetericyn VF Wound & Skin Care comes in two different formulas, a regular liquid spray and a hydrogel. The Hydrogel spray has a slightly thicker, gel like component that is designed to better adhere to the site of application. Both of these products are sold through the VetRXdirect website, and their bottle labels will differentiate between the two formulas.

Will it cure Acral Lick Dermatitis? Dog constantly lick all paws.?
-
The active ingredient of Vetericyn VF Wound & Skin Care is Hypochlorous Acid (HOCI) (0.0150%). It is intended for use for cleansing, irrigating, moistening, and debriding to remove wound debris from acute and chronic dermal lesions that are partial or full thickness wounds such as 1st and 2nd degree burns, stage I - IV pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, abrasions and minor skin irritations, post-surgical wounds, grafted and donor sites, in addition to moistening and lubricating absorbent wound dressings. Acral Lick dermatitis is an inflammatory skin condition that develops as a result of excessive, chronic licking. Vetericyn VF wound and skin care by itself can not cure Acral lick dermatitis, but it may be added as an adjunct therapy. Please consult your veterinarian for optimal treatment options. Can this be helpful for a dog if demodex mange??
-
Demodectic Mange is characterized by overgrowth of mites in the dog's skin which can cause redness, itching, hair loss, and/or scaling of the skin. Vetericyn may be helpful if your dog has wounds or abrasions associated with mange, but it will not get rid of the mites that are causing the problem.
