Great Rimadyl replacement for arthritic dogs.
From Plantation, FL, USAComments about Vetprofen (carprofen) CapletsWorks great for our 10 yr old, 130 lb Alaskan Malamute. He can jump in and out of the car and go jogging just like when he was 5 years old. Easier on the wallet than its expensive twin brother Rimadyl that the vets are forced to exclusively sell. -

My pugs were doing very well on a smaller dose of vetprofen, but when we switched to carprofen ( from Costco, so much cheaper than from the vet) they seem to be doing poorly( very stiff and gimpy) even though we uppef their dosage. Are these two drugs exactly the same or could one be dicferent and jst not be as effective??

Is Vetprofen safer or beter than Norvox ot Rimadyl? or is the only difference flavored tablets>?
-
Vetprofen and Novox both contain carprofen, are non-flavored caplets, and are the generic equivalents to Rimadyl. Generic medications are required by law to contain the same active ingredients. The main differences between the name brand Rimadyl and these generics is the manufacturer, and Rimadyl comes in a flavored chewable tablet.
