Finally ending the allergic scratching
I use this for my dog, a 16 pound poodle lhasa apso mix. I had a hard time delivering the capsule form of this medicine. I called Novartis to find out what the difference was between the feline and canine formula, and I was told they were identical. The syringe that comes in the box has a graduated dosing gauge to match the poundage of your dog or cat. I fill the syringe to the 16 pound mark. All of the redness on her belly goes away. She stops biting her paws and scratching at her ears which, without the Atopica, can become infected and require a wash and medicated ointment. We tried everything before Atopica including diet changes, ending poultry in her meals, and feeding her single foods to test what she was allergic to. She suffered for years until I finally came upon this product. I cannot recommend it highly enough. During highest allergy season, we dose her once every day. When the weather is wetter and the pollen count is down, she can occasionally skip a day or two between dosing.

I've been using this for my cat, who has food allergies and skin issues, for about 6 months. In the first 3 months, at the highest dose, I saw good improvement and regrowth of hair along the belly and legs. My vet then suggested we cut back the dose, and after about a month, my cat was licking all his hair off again. He's been back on the highest dose for a few months now, and although there has been some improvement/regrowth, it's not nearly the same as it was in the first 3 months. Since this medication is not meant to be given at the highest dose for long periods, I'm just not sure it works for him. Very disappointing, as it's a safer alternative to prednisone, and VetRxDirect has had the best price on it. A couple of major cons: it's extremely expensive, and the stuff apparently tastes awful, as my cat drools like crazy whenever he gets it. I mix it with about .5 ml water and a bunch of Fortiflora, which helps, but he still hates it. I'm not sure why the manufacturer doesn't make it with a pet-friendly flavoring.

Great Med, great transaction
From UndisclosedComments about Atopica (cyclosporine) for Cats 17mL Vial, 100mg/mLAtopica has given my cat Grizabella quality of life. She came to me covered in sores and it took a couple of years to get this rez cat the help she needed to live peacefully, without constantly chewing on herself. Recently, it has been difficult to find her dosage of Atopica, but VetRx Direct had it when no one else did. I was impressed by the ease of the transaction and how quickly they got the medicine to me.-

super helpful with cat's allergies
From UndisclosedComments about Atopica (cyclosporine) for Cats 17mL Vial, 100mg/mLMy cat Poptart has terrible, terrible allergies and itches his face until it's raw, bloody and scabby. Steroids have worked great, but we didn't want him to be on them for too long and certainly not for his entire life. Luckily, Atopica has allowed us to get rid of the steroids but keep the itching under control! It's a bit pricey, but it lasts quite some time (especially if it's taken every other day like my cat takes it) and it's completely worth every penny for his health and comfort. -

Caution... Zero Stars
From Bandon, ORComments about Atopica (cyclosporine) for CatsMy vet and a trusted pet health care professional kept suggesting Cyclosporin for my cat with acute stomatitis. Keeper was a crippled stray of unknown age. Even after most of her teeth were extracted, the lesions would not clear on prednisolone. About 1-2 days after starting Atopica, Keeper stopped eating. I discontinued Atopica after 6 days and went back to Pred, but she never came out of the tailspin. She took opiate pain meds to get her thru the weekend, and we said final Farewell on 11/2/2020.-

Necessity for Atopic Dermatitis
From UndisclosedComments about Atopica (cyclosporine) for Catsbefore my guy was on this medication he had the most awful skin condition. He would get lumps and bumps and he would lick them obsessively. Sometimes they would open up and I would have to cover them for weeks or months at a time, and there would be a lot of them at once. It took years, many vets, many procedures, and many medications, to figure out what was going on... with the help of an amazing vet dermatologist, we tried Atopica and it worked. I am so thankful for this medication. I have to get blood work and urine tests every six months but it's so much better than having him suffer with dermatitis.

Since nowhere has this in stock , what else is their out their to give a 16 lb cat? He is in a lot of pain, losing a lot of hair & bleeding! I cannot find any Atopica anywhere! What else can I give him??
-
The symptoms your cat is experiencing could be related to various underlying conditions. Treating and controlling these symptoms depends on the severity of your cat’s condition as well as your cat’s weight, medical history, and medications that you have previously tried. It is recommended that you speak with your veterinarian, who is the best source of information regarding your cat’s medical condition. Your veterinarian can recommend the most appropriate treatment for your cat.

Ask your vet about cyclosporine from a place called WedgeWood Pharmacy (https://www.wedgewoodpharmacy.com). That's what my vet is trying. It isn't Atopica specifically but, as the patent is open, it is cyclosporine that they actually mix there. So sorry about your cat! I'm desperate for it too! Best of luck!!

vet prescribed for my cat's possible allergy--excessive grooming could be anxiety--gave her atopica and for 2 days she was very logy--slept all day and night and then vomited her food--third day she had diarrhea--should I discontinue using??
-
Barbara, Atopica's side effects are mainly gastrointestinal problems such as vomiting, anorexia, and diarrhea but are usually seen at higher doses. Gastrointestinal upset may be seen in cats during their first month of therapy. If it is severe and adversely affecting your cat, please contact your veterinarian to determine if discontinuation is necessary. Thank you, VetRxDirect
