Good product for my elderly dog
My elderly dog has mild kidney dysfunction and this medication alleviates her symptoms of excessive thirst and frequent urination. It's expensive and needs to be kept refrigerated. Buying it online through Vet RX is much more economical than buying it at the Vet's. I was concerned about shipping something that needs to be kept cold. Vet RX did an excellent job and I bought 90 days worth at a time and will continue to do so as long as needed.

Would not recommend
I recommend not buying this product. The capsule is to big for a cat. It is highly recommended not breaking the capsule open and putting on your cats food. This medication needs to be ingested whole.
I tried putting this capsule in a pill pocket, which did not work. My cat broke the capsule open in her mouth. Maybe 45 minutes to an hour later, my cat was walking and completely lost her balance and just fell on her side 2 different times. My cat became very fatigued and unresponsive.
I tried every way with giving my cat this capsule, and all were unsuccessful. The only part that concerns is the above statement with my cat becoming fatigued, unresponsive, and just falling over 2 different times. I saw in my cats eye she was not good. I cannot and will not use this product.
I am disappointed in the fact that nothing is described as possible side effects. If those were stated, I would not have purchased or tried this product.

A must for any cat with kidney disease!
From UndisclosedComments about Azodyl Small Capsules, 90 ctAzodyl is a pivotal component to my cat's daily needs with kidney disease! He takes it twice a day with ease, I add it to his wet food because it has zero taste to it. You start to see a noticeable difference within just a few days of taking it. It must be refrigerated, which is why you get it shipped next day. VetRx Direct does a great job in making sure the packaging is properly insulted and packed with an icepack. My cat's quality of life is not only better but extended with comfort. Something I think all pet owners can appreciate to no end. :)-

Not sure
From UndisclosedComments about Azodyl Small Capsules, 90 ctNot sure if it is helping. Happy's renal Panel didn't show much change. But to be fair I have been inconsistent lately with giving him his medicines. I'm going to have him checked again in a couple of weeks.-

Could be Worth it for CKD Cats
From UndisclosedComments about Azodyl Small Capsules, 90 ctMy 14 y/o kitty has ibd and CKD, so I wanted to try this probiotic because there's some evidence that it may be helpful to CKD cats. We aren't quite through our first bottle yet. I haven't noticed any real difference and it is on the pricier side. I wish there were more evidence about its efficacy. I can say that if you are giving this to your cat, you should pill them rather than sprinkle it on their food. There is a study that backs that up. All in all, it is part of our regimen and it certainly can't hurt, but I have not seen any noticeable improvement.-

Life saver
From UndisclosedComments about Azodyl Small Capsules, 90 ctMy sweet boy was diagnosed with kidney disease in May of this year. Initially the vet said that the prognosis wasn't great and estimated 2-4 months with him without treatment. After 30 of prescription food and other meds we didn't see any difference. She suggested that we try to add azodyl and I wanted to start at home subcutaneous fluids. After 30 days we saw a dramatic decrease in kidney values and this month we had our 2nd round of normal lab work. Idk if azodyl is 100% the reason but I feel that it is giving me extra time with my little love.-
Prince has had normal kidney values for two consecutive months after implementing this supplement

Think it works!
From UndisclosedComments about Azodyl Small Capsules, 90 ctBeen giving this to my 12 yr old dachshund for about a month now and it seems to be working. Our Trudy was diagnosed w early stage kidney disease and our vet recommended azodyl. Brought her in for a blood test today and the vet was pleased, it was normal again! So we're feeling cautiously optimistic and will keep her on it.-
Feelin good!

My Noel is back at last.
From UndisclosedComments about Azodyl Small Capsules, 90 ctMr. Noel is 19.5 years old. In the last 2 years Noel has spent more time under the bed sleeping. Azodyl has made a huge difference. He now comes out and tells his servant Elijah how he is to live his life and behave. He's back in bed at night curled up to me, demanding his food and all the loving he can get. I love having my baby back.-

EXCELLENT PROBIOTIC FOR YOUR PET
From UndisclosedComments about Azodyl Small Capsules, 90 ctMy vet recommended AZODYL to help manage my cat's kidney disease. Daily use of Azodyl has helped to support the renal health of my cat. The smooth capsule makes easy to pill him. I gently push it into the back of his mouth and it slides down. Best of all, my cat doesn't mind taking the Azodyl. #sweepstakes-

Kidney Disease
From Sarasota, FLComments about AzodylButters was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease at 14. I started him on Azodyl, twice a day, upon diagnosis based on friends' recommendations and a kidney disease support website. He will be 16 this summer and still going strong even though he has progressed to stage 3. His weight has been maintained and his fur is still healthy and thick. I've seen other reviews that mention the pill is too large for a cat. It's not too large for my cat who is 10 pounds. It seems like it's too large but I pop it into the back of Butters' throat and he easily swallows it. Sometimes he shakes his head to work it down but he has never choked on it, I can't imagine that he ever would since it's similar to kibble size that many cats just swallow whole without chewing. Best of luck to you and your pet on this kidney disease journey! #sweepstakes-

Kidney Disease
From UndisclosedComments about AzodylButters was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease at about 14. He will be 16 this summer and I've been giving him Azodyl capsules twice a day since diagnosis. I read on a kidney disease support group and heard from a friend that her vet recommended the product. It's like taking vitamins. Not sure if it's doing anything but he remains healthy, has kept his weight on and has an appetite even though he has progressed into stage 3. Butters doesn't eat enough wet food so I pop the capsules into the back of his throat to administer. He is fine with that--they seem too big but they are not. For reference, Butters is 10 pounds so he's not exceptionally large. Best of luck with your pet!-

Does azodyl help with cat uti ??
-
According to the manufacturer, Azodyl does not provide any benefit with treatment or prevention of urinary tract infections. Azodyl binds to the nitrogenous waste from the kidneys and disposes of them through feces. This helps support kidney health in pets by reducing toxin build up in the body. Please consult your veterinarian with any additional questions or concerns regarding this medication.

Can I give Azydol probiotics along with proviable forte, DC probiotics? Or is it recommended that you only give as Azydol probiotic for your pet with renal Failure? Usually I give the proviable DC when I give my dog his meal. Also I notice Azodyl gives my dog really stinky farts. Giving him to a day makes him do a lot of stretching of his stomach so I cut back too to one right now but for the first three months so his body can adjust.?

Azodyl is a supplement that helps support kidney health by flushing out toxins in the bowel and blood in dogs. The manufacturer recommends giving 1 capsule daily for dogs weighing <5 lbs, 1 capsule twice daily for dogs 5-10 lbs, and 3 capsules daily (2 in the morning and 1 in the evening) for dogs >10 lbs. Proviable-DC is another probiotic that helps firm stools and reduce diarrhea caused by intestinal upset. Generally, probiotics are well tolerated, however, taking too many probiotics can cause bloating and gas. It is recommended that you speak with your veterinarian about giving both probiotics, they will be able to provide the best recommendation as they have a full history of your dog’s health.

Is it okay if I give my cat one capsule at 1 pm and the next pill at 1 am? As I have to work 12 hours and there's no other feasible time?
-
It would be fine to give one capsule at 1 PM and one capsule at 1 AM. It is best to take Azodyl on an empty stomach and it is recommended that if it is given twice a day it be given in two separate doses. Please contact your veterinarian about any questions or concerns you may have regarding this product and your cat.

Can Azodyl be put in a supplement like methigel or is there something else to encourage them to take the caps thanks?
-

Wrapping the capsule in a pill wrap or with just enough food to administer would be acceptable as long as it is separated from the main meal by an hour.
