From UndisclosedComments about CitraVet (potassium citrate)Easy to deal with. Fast purchased and shipping. -
My dog thinks it's a treat!
From Jacksonville, FLComments about CitraVet (potassium citrate)My dog had to have surgery for calcium oxylate crystals in her urethra and the vet had us use this daily along with prescription food and distilled water. It took awhile, but her urinalysis began to show improvements and her urine is now completely clear of any oxylates. It is a chewable and she loves it - she'll actually start doing tricks as if it's a treat! -
yes i will buy it again
From undisclosedComments about CitraVet (potassium citrate)we originally got this from our vet. they were on back order so I took the chance that the medication was the same good quality as the vets.. IT WAS and a bit cheaper ... I had to pay extra for next day shipping but it was here the very next day!! thank you vet rx....... -
I will continue ordering from you!
From undisclosedComments about CitraVet (potassium citrate)Thank you so much for the prompness in getting the Citravet to me. My long distance vet was no longer able to fill this and I was getting desperate as my little Chi needs it! So finding you was a miracle! -
Only place I could locate the correct mg
From undisclosedComments about CitraVet (potassium citrate)After much research, this is the only place I could find the correct mg to match the vet's prescription. However, it was very difficult to get them together with the vet for the approval even though I had the actual prescription and faxed to them. They faxed to the wrong location I guess or maybe the vets office faxed the authorization to the wrong location. It wasn't clear but either way I had to intervene several times. It took a week to get it sorted out. So if you need your prescription quickly you really need to get involved to be sure you get it. My dog takes it fine. Too soon to know if it is doing what we need it to do. -
I will buy again.
From undisclosedComments about CitraVet (potassium citrate)My dog likes the taste of it so I hand it to him rather than break it up in his food. -
Price is Right
From undisclosedComments about CitraVet (potassium citrate)Product works well to keep the urine ph level down so it doesn't form crystals. The downside is that its chalky when mixed in with his food and he tolerates it but doesn't enjoy eating as much. -

Helped My Schnauzer
From Las VegasComments about CitraVet (potassium citrate)My min Schnauzer was going through all kinds of testing and there were guesses that he may have kidney problems, among other things. He was put on special Rx foods until he would no longer eat them. He was given CitraVet. When we went a couple of days without the CitraVet he would begin to fail. Still don't know what was wrong but he gets CitraVet twice a day and eats a clean diet of vegetables, chicken and kibble. He is now an active healthy guy again.

The CitraVet is a great product and I have not seen any side effects, my dog eats it with his regular food. My only concern is that your company can not seem to keep it in stock. Not sure why this is, but it is an issue that you must remedy or I will just find another supplier. I have used your site for this med for years now and this issue has happened twice now.?

My dog is a very picky eater, is there a way to break this pill down and make it more palatable? I've always had trouble giving my dog pills in any food item, he either leaves it or picks out the pill. I just have to poke it down his throat. I am supposed to give him two of these twice a day and they're so large I'm not sure how to do it. He's just had his second bladder surgery to remove stones and I'm struggling with how to get the potassium in him to neutralize his urine. He's a 38 pound terrier mix. He's never cared for peanut butter and I'm having trouble coming up with a compatible flavor. Thanks for any suggestions.?
-
CitraVet is a chewable flavored tablet that can be given to your dog by hand. If your dog won't take the tablet, it can be crumbled and mixed with food, wet or dry, to disguise the flavor. If you are still having difficulty administering the medication, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian.
