Disappointed
From UndisclosedComments about EndosorbMy cat wouldn't go near his food because this medicine was very thick & the doses were large and apparently it took over the taste of the food so has nothing to do with it, it probably works great but I was unable to use it . -

How do I give this to my bichon. I got one in him last night, but too big to shove down his throat Tried to coat with peanut butter, but he is starting to hate peanut butter.?
-
Endosorb is sold as both a tablet and an oral suspension. Please consult with your veterinarian for administration techniques or to see if the suspension might be a good option.
Verified Answer -
I take about a tablespoon of his canned food, break the tablet in four sections and push inside the food and roll it up like a meatball. Never an issue to eat. I will never shove a pill down his throat. These are chewable, but he won't chew them either. He's never turned down the food wrapped pill.
Community Answer -
The chewable tablets crumble easily so you can crumble into wet food or a special treat. Don't use only peanut butter; vary it with something creamy. Ask your vet first, but a TINY bit of liverwurst or wrap it in a small piece of bologna. A little plain ground beef maybe or wrap in American cheese or some plain chicken. Some of these items are not considered healthy, esp if your dog has diarrhea, but may be ok in tiny amounts just to give meds, so ask your vet first.

The time for Endosorb to show an effect depends on the condition/severity of the diarrhea in the pet. Some possible indications of diarrhea in your pet may include: dietary intolerance, viral infections, parasitic infection, or dietary changes. It is recommended to consult with your veterinarian about your pets diarrhea and what product would be best in treating the diarrhea.

Hi, Can I give this to my 6 pound 18 yr old cat? She's having explosive ongoing diarrhea. Has been seen by the vet. They like to test. Not given her any metronidazole or probiotics. She's had lots of injectible antibiotics. Her weight is still down, she's constantly hungry, she is drinking a good amount of water. Though I'm worried about dehydration. Her diet is mostly wet pate. Rarely likes to eat any dry food. Thank for your help! Starr?

While this medication can be used in cats, it is recommended to discuss this treatment with your veterinarian. There are several causes of ongoing diarrhea. Please contact your veterinarian regarding the most appropriate product for your cat.

Can this be used with metronidazole??
-
There are no documented interactions between Endosorb and metronidazole. Please contact your veterinarian regarding the use of these medications.
Verified Answer -
My vet prescribed Endosorb and metronidazole for my dog who was having stomach issues. The medications each have their own purpose; Endosorb works to firm the stool and balance the gut and the metronidazole is an antibiotic that is used to treat stomach issues, as well as, diarrhea. In summary, yes. This combination of medications was prescribed to my cocker spaniel. My vet also prescribed a probiotic to help with balancing the enzymes in the stomach. I would also recommend checking with your vet to ensure that this is the right treatment for your pet.
