This stuff is wonderful BUT
This got the greyhound to eating after a bout of canine flu. She had lost so much weight and was very weak from not eating. She is typically an iffy eater. If she over heats (which is almost every day in triple digit NM summers) she stops eating. If she goes two days without eating, she is reluctant to eat even if she feels okay. We have discovered that the right dose for her (@35lb) is to place a finger over the open top of the bottle and tip the bottle over and back upright. The amount remaining on the end of the finger is then rubbed on her lips so she can lick it off. Once is usually enough, sometimes a second similar "dose" is needed. This keeps her from throwing it up and/or foaming. Usually within the hour she will start back eating. If not, she gets a second dose.

Entyce Works, but Dog Can't Stand the Taste
My vet recommended this product for my senior dog who had quit eating any kibble or canned dog food of any brand. My dog was diagnosed with kidney disease, so had been prescribed special diet dog food. Dog would not eat it. Entyce does work and made my dog hungry, but didn't overcome his pickiness. However, the Entyce must taste terrible. He spits it out all over the floor, foams at the mouth, gags, and throws up. It was so bad, that as soon as he smelled it he would run from me. It is expensive. If your dog needs it and will tolerate it, great. Entyce did get my dog through a bad spell that without it he would have become dehydrated and starved.

She was fine one day, and sick the next. The hospital utilized Entyce to stimulate her appetite and sent home a small amount upon her discharge. I then ordered additional product, from VetRx, to continue to utilize at home. She is still on antibiotic, as it takes a while for the pneumonia to completely clear. Intermittent administration of Entyce has helped her a great deal.-

Very Helpful Appetite Stimulant

I suspect her previous owner feed her a lot of "people food". After spending quite a bit of money at the vet and determining there was no medical reason for her lack of appetite, I tried Entyce. It's been very helpful in giving her an appetite boost and getting her to eat her food. I try not to use this all the time, but I do appreciate having it in my tool box when everything else fails. Mixing and dribbling different flavors of meat baby food has also been a big help. Good luck with your little picky eaters! -

I'm not sure what size bottle of Entyce to buy. My vet seems to be looking for a fax from where I order it from to get dosing info. Do the syringes contain a pre-measured amount or can I buy a larger bottle and use a smaller amount on a smaller dog. My dog is currently 10.9 pounds (but normal should be around 13 pounds).?

Entyce comes in three different size of bottles, but the strength of 30 mg/mL is the same for all sizes. A syringe is included with each bottle and must be measured to the amount recommended by your veterinarian. According to the manufacturer, the standard dosing is 3 mg/kg (1.4 mg/lb) of body weight. I have an 12 year old greyhound, who has been slowly losing weight. She has been to the Vet several times, can't find anything specific. I am now just started giving her entyce. Once a day. 2.1 ml dose for 46 pound dog. Question is how long does it take for the med to kick in? Should I give to her in the morning before breakfast, before dinner, or when? She has been less inclined to eat breakfast, which is high protein dry food. Night is high protein, high fat wet food. She will eat dinner, but does not usually finish her bowl, however, I tend to give her too much food so she can eat all she wants.?
