  • Our most typical process is that a customer creates an account, adding pet and vet information, then places an order. You select the appropriate vet and pet for each prescription item in checkout. After an order is placed, we contact clinics to request prescriptions. Unfortunately, legally we cannot use prescriptions emailed, scanned, or uploaded from customers as authorizations to dispense medications. This is because it would allow the same prescription to be filled multiple times. Per pharmacy law, customers can mail in signed original prescriptions. Clinics can fax or call in prescriptions.   • It is not recommended to use this product in the ears. Topical sprays usually do not make their way far enough into the ear canal to treat what is occurring. GenOne Topical spray contains an antibiotic gentamicin and a steroid betamethasone. There are products containing these ingredients made specifically for the ears. It’s recommended that you consult with your veterinarian regarding the need for ear antibiotics and steroids. Your veterinarian is the best source of information for your dog's health if you have any additional questions or concerns about this product.

  • Don't use for anal glands. If there is irritation at the anal gland it's due to an internal problem that needs treatment to prevent infection, prolapse, sepsis, and anal gland rupture. If you're just looking for a spray to clean up back there because it's super smelly, use epi-optic ear cleaner. It's sensitive and you can apply it to a baby wipe or cotton ball and rub it around the anal sac region to remove the smell effectively without an entire bath.

  • GenOne and GentaVed both contain the same active ingredients gentamicin and betamethasone at the same concentrations. They are both labeled for the treatment of certain bacterial skin infections in dogs. GenOne is manufactured by VetOne and GentaVed is manufactured by Vedco.

• I am using GenOne Spray on my dog's hotspots as prescribed by the vet. The vet assures me the dog does not find the spray irritating. But, the spray contains Isopropyl Alcohol which is quite irritating on skin, especially on open sores. My dog HATES the spray; he yelps, tries to run away, and rolls over and over when he does get away. Is there a different product that contains the antibiotics and the cortesteroid that doesn't not contain alcohol??

  • The spray does occasionally cause irritation. Speak with your vet about an alternative solution such as an ointment. Some ear cleaners can also be substituted, but it depends on what your pet is being treated for. Do not discontinue without consulting your vet. You can also try positive reinforcement to help ease the anxiety and stress around the spray application. Have someone feed treats, or spray cheese on a licky mat, while you apply the spray. Do it at the same time every day in the same location every time. The routine will help.

  • No. You can make an infection worse this way. Please have all dog bite wounds assessed by a vet. They should only be cleaned with cholorahex scrub, solution, and saline. Additionally all hair needs to be clipped from the location of the bite wound, which may require sedation, and the dog will typically need oral antibiotics to prevent infection as dogs can develop flesh eating bacteria secondary to infection, if left untreated or improperly treated. If you can stick a finger, even the tip of your pinky, into the bite, it needs stitches and a drain—go to the vet.

• GenOne Spray states it is specifically for dogs. It was prescribed for my cat who had filled anal sacs and was skooting continuously until the area around the anus was red and raw and inflammed. First she used preparation H on the area but he licked that off. He was continuously licking the area. So GenOne was prescribed for my cat. Is this harming my cat in any way? It was prescribed for use 2 to 3 times a day. There was no mention of a bacterial infection unless this was being used to keep from getting one. He is an indoor cat.?

  • Off label it is safe for cats, there's a few ear medications like this as well. Do not use on your cat without the direction of your vet.
