Neo Poly Dex for dog's ears
I have a 14 year old wire haired fox terrier, Alexander. For the past 3 years I've had a very difficult time protecting the pet from ear infection. LSU Veterinary Medicine, Baton Rouge, Louisiana in Fall 2016 recommended to my veterinarian using Neo Poly Dex in Alex' ears to control yeast infection. I currently use 2 drops in each ear, every other day. I was using B&L drops in Alex' ears until Spring 2017, when B&L eliminated distribution for use in animals. (Presumably because of shortage for human use in eyes) So, I found the Sandoz brand Neo Poly Dex manufactured by Alcon Labs which has the same ingredients as the B&L drops in April 2017 and switched to that brand. With the Neo Poly Dex drops and the use of Virbac Epi-Otic ear cleanser, used 2-3 times per week, Alex is now having much better ear exams and less cleaning every 2-3 weeks to protect his hearing.

Good product. However, it did not stop the tear discharge...
Good product. However, it did not stop the tear discharge of my puppy's left eye. So I am not sure if the vet was correct in prescribing this medication.

Is this okay to use for Cat Conjunctivitis? I know Neo Poly Bac is better, but I have this ointment here already. Former vet tech so I'm watching it closely and will take him in if it gets to that point, but it seems to be helping some.?
-
Neo-Poly-Dex Ophthalmic is labeled to treat bacterial infections of the eye and is a medication that can be used safely in cats. However, conjunctivitis can be caused by other items besides bacteria, such as a virus, fungi, allergies, hereditary conditions, foreign objects, or may be a symptom of another eye disease. For this reason, it is recommended that you consult with your veterinarian regarding your cat’s medical condition so they can determine the correct course of action.

When do you expect more of the OINTMENT of Bausch & Lomb Neo Poly Dex>??????
-
Due to a recall by some manufacturers, the Neo/Poly/Dex Ointment and the Suspension are both in short supply. None of the stock that VetRxDirect had or has shipped in the past was affected by the recall. Currently, the ointment is unavailable from our distributors. At this time [9/19/2019], we have no information on when we will be able to get it back in stock. Please note that VetRxDirect cannot guarantee which generic manufacturer’s Neo/Poly/Dex ointment will be filled, as generic manufacturers may change due to availability from our supplier.

I have been looking to order this product (suspension) for over a week and it keeps showing up "out of stock" when will you be shipping again? Should I consider ordering the ointment version??
-
Unfortunately, the suspension is in very short supply at this time [July 30, 2019] due to a recall by some manufacturers. None of the stock that we had or have shipped in the past was affected by the recall, but we are currently unable to get the suspension from our distributors. At this time we have no information on when we will be able to get it back in stock. If you need the suspension soon, I would recommend seeking it from another pharmacy or speaking with your veterinarian about your options. Your veterinarian may recommend trying the ointment or some other treatment options to best suit your dog or cat’s needs.
