Product is too hard
From VirginiaComments about Ocu-GLOThe product was too hard! My dog took the gel capsules just fine but this product was too hard for her even when I broke it into for her. Since I did not know this until I opened it, I do not have an option to return it. Even after I cut the product in quarters, my small dog could not chew the pieces. I don't know what I can do with them now. A lot of money gone. -

Q & A
-
will ocu glo cure cataracts or just stop it from becoming worse?
-
Anna, Ocu-GLO Rx is an over-the-counter eye supplement containing antioxidants and omega fatty acids. This product supports eye health but will not cure cataracts and it is unknown whether or not this product will reduce the progression of the disease. We recommend contacting your veterinarian if you have specific questions regarding your pet’s eye health. Thank you, VetRxDirect

What is a good way to give the medicine to the dog.?
-
Sandra, Most dogs tolerate the medication due to both the capsule and its contents being liver flavored. We do carry an over-the-counter product called Pill Pockets; which are functional treats that may help your pet take the medicine. The manufacturer recommends for the capsule to be swallowed whole due to potential staining from the liquid contents inside the capsule. Thank you, VetRxDirect

My 12 lb Poodle got diagnosed with PRA. Will this medication help? At this time, he only has night time blindness.... and not very bad. He is 9 yrs old.Thank you for your time.:)?
-
Rebecca, OcuGloRx is a vision supplement used in dogs with different eye diseases, because it is a supplement, it is not intended to treat, cure, or prevent any disease, but may be beneficial in tandem with other treatments. There is no curing of PRA, but there may be options that can help slow the progression. Please discuss with your veterinarian if your poodle can benefit from this product. Thank you, VetRxDirect

I have a small Yorkie, between 5 and 6 pounds. Would I give her 1 small capsule? My little Yorkie also has some stomach problems due to having liver shunts, but had surgery. She has a small liver. Would this product be safe for her to take??
-
Vickie, While there should be no issues with the liver when taking Ocu-Glo, we would recommending getting the okay from your pet's veterinarian before starting this or any pet med. Given your dog's stomach history, the starting dose of Ocu-Glo would be 1 gelcap every other day and if your pet respondes okay after three or four days, move to the suggested dose of 1 gelcap once a day. It you are willing to attempt to puncture the gelcap and squeeze out the ingredients, you could start off at 1/2 gelcap once a day, then move to the suggested dose. Thank you, VetRxDirect

-
Should this product be given to my dog with food or can I just give it as a treat??
-
Traci, Ocu-Glo should be given with food, either at meal time or with a snack. Food improves absorption of the anti-oxidants and may make it easier to give to your dog. Thank you, VetRxDirect
