Trying this medication on my dog.
From UndisclosedComments about Ocu-GLO Soft Chews for Dogs and Cats, 60ctI am giving the ocu-glo to my 10 year old diabetic dog in hopes of keeping cataracts away for as long as I can. Whether or not this product will work, remains to be proven. -

Ocu-Glo maintains my dog's restored vision.
From UndisclosedComments about Ocu-GLOOur vet recommended Ocu-Glo for our 12 yr old English Setter after cataract surgery. I give him 2 pills daily, hidden in a piece of breakfast sausage of course. He was definitely going blind , but the surgery has given him his sight back and the vitamins are helping him to maintain good eye health. Thanks for a great product!-
Vision restored ... our healthy 12 year old setter is able to hunt again!

worth every penny
From UndisclosedComments about Ocu-GLO Powder Blend XL for Med and Lg Dogs, 90 CapsulesThis product was recommended by our dog's eye specialist for his specific conditions. We were doubtful an herbal supplement would help specific issues, but it has surpassed our expectations! He was likely going to lose complete vision after 2 or 3 years, and we are going on 5 years! So grateful for this supplement, worth every penny. -
I would buy this product again!
From UndisclosedComments about Ocu-GLOThis is very convenient compared to the large capsules! -
Great product that seems to work as advertised!
From Bell Canyon, CAComments about Ocu-GLOGreat product that appears to work as advertised, definitely recommend if your dog has PRA. It won't bring your pet's sight back but will possibly slow the decline of their vision. #sweepstakes -
This product seems to work as advertised
From UndisclosedComments about Ocu-GLOOur dog Petal was diagnosed with PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) when she was 5 years old. This disease usually starts in dogs who inherit it when they are between 4 and 6 years old. We were told there was nothing we could do about it and that she would be completely blind in about 1 year, 2 at the very most. We immediately started giving her Ocu-GLO and have given it to her every day since she was diagnosed. Her vision did indeed decline but much much slower than predicted. When she was 10 years old she still had some sight and it's only been in this past year (her 12th) that her vision has gotten drastically worse.. Even still, she's not totally blind. I don't know if Ocu-GLO had anything to do with this, but we felt it was worth trying and we continue to give it to her for overall eye health, including cataracts and possible inflammation from other issues. I recommend it to anyone who has a dog with PRA and would like a shot to preserve their vision for as long as possible.-
Petal loves walking outdoors and meeting people.

Q & A

my dog started the powdered capsule about 5 days ago and seems to poop more than usual. She is 8 1/2lbs 1 capsule daily. Could this be a problem?
-
If your dog is experiencing loose stools or diarrhea, the dose may be too high. Stopping the supplement until stools return to normal may be beneficial. Consult with your veterinarian to determine which dose is best for your dog.

Why is my Ocu-Glo powder blend a different color than it used to be??
-
According to the manufacturer, they switched vendors for the raw material Astaxanthin to get a higher quality product. The older product may appear more yellow, while the newer product may appear more orange in color. Astaxanthin is a naturally-occurring carotenoid found in algae, shrimp, lobster, crab and salmon. Carotenoids are pigment colors that occur in nature and support good health.

Hi, I have a question about dosage. My dog is 11 pounds, and the suggested daily use for 11lb is one medium/large dog capsule. However wouldn't that be too much for him? The weight range is 11-30 lbs and I'm worried about side effects from overdosing. I would appreciate your answer.?
-
The manufacturer stated dosage for an 11 pound dog is 1 medium/large size dog capsule. The Ocu-Glo for small dogs contains half of the amount of active ingredients by weight per capsule compared to Ocu-Glo for medium/large dogs and is recommended for dogs under 11 pounds. You should contact your vet with your specific concerns to ensure proper care for you dog is provided.

-
Ocu-GLO snipcaps and powder blend are designed to be able to be opened and spread over food or a treat to make administration easier. You can open the powder blend capsules or snipcap to mix in with your dog’s meal, which may be easier for you and your dog.

WOULD IT BE TOO LATE TO START GIVING A DOG OCUGLO IF CATARACTS HAVE ALREADY SET IN AND THE DOG CANNOT SEE. WOULD IT REVERSE OR LESSEN THE CLOUDINESS OF THE EYES.?
-
Ocu-GLO is a product designed to support and maintain overall eye health. The manufacturer states it is intended to slow the onset of cataracts and maintain eye health as a preventative supplement. It will not reverse cataracts that have already set in. Consult your veterinarian regarding the treatment of your dog’s cataracts to ensure proper and effective treatment.

I am no vet but when we took our 5 year old Schnauzer to the Ophthalmologist for Retinal Degeneration, he recommended we also give it to our 10 year old Schnauzer for cataracts to slow down the process. Just thought I would share :)

My dog is 16 lbs, been having a hard time getting him to take the capsules now..Can he use the ones for small dogs? Even though they say 10 lbs and under? Could he take 2 small tables in place of the 1 capsule.?
-
According to the manufacturer, the strength of the liquid gel caps for medium to large dogs (> 11 lbs) is 350 mg. The strength of the liquid snip caps for small dogs (< 10 lbs) is 175 mg. Giving two of the liquid snip caps for small dogs would provide an equal amount to one of the liquid gel caps for medium to large dogs.
