LISTEN TO YOUR VET
From Las Vegas, NV, USAComments about Ocu-GLONever take your pet's eye-sight for granted - and know that we are responsible for taking care of them when they cannot take care of themselves. A few months ago, my Shepherd/Chow mix was diagnosed with SARDS - he went completely blind in a short period of time, and there is no cure and no definitive cause. Ocu-Glo was recommended to prevent further issues and to maintain healthy care of his eyes due to his condition by the Ophthalmologist at the Las Vegas Valley Specialty Center . While he will never see again, I will do what ever I can to keep him comfortable and prevent further complications. We need to them to listen to the advise of those who are well-trained to understand their conditions even when our beloved pets cannot tall us themselves. We owe them that much!!-

From upstate NYComments about Ocu-GLOCapsules are easy to give, my dog like them. No digestive problems -
This stuff works!!
From Bryant, AR, USAComments about Ocu-GLOWe have a 6.5 year old Brussels Griffon that has had a run of bad luck! She fell down a set of 3 stairs last October of 2013 and as a result, broke her elbow. After surgery and 3 casts with Dr. Dew an orthopedic surgeon, she is able to walk again. Her missing the stairs had me concerned about her eyesight so during the healing process, I found an ophthalmologist to examine her. Dr. Miller, stated that she did in fact have the onset of cataracts and that could have contributed to the fall however she also had retinal deterioration so she wasn't a good candidate for cataract removal. At his recommendation, we ordered Ocu-Glo RX and started taking the pills immediately. After 3 months we returned to see Dr. Miller and weren't given much hope but he said to continue taking the Ocu-Glo. We returned again for our 6 month check up and again, much of the same. "Keep doing what you're doing". Very disappointing news... However, yesterday we went for our 9 month checkup and were told that both eyes were developing cataracts and one was already very visible and he suspected the other one would be visible quite soon. I had just broke into tears when he stopped and said, "but because the retinal deterioration has stabilized, she is now a candidate for cataract surgery". Thank you Ocu-Glo!! Hopefully because of Ocu-Glo our little Lulu will be able to enjoy her eyesight a little longer!!-

Does the Job!
From Springfield, MO, USAComments about Ocu-GLOAt the suggestion of our vet we purchased Ocu-Glo for our dog, and we are so please with the outcome. His eyes are much clearer and his vision has improved greatly. He can see his toy better when we toss them to him. Great product. Thank you for helping improve our corgi's eye sight. -
Wonderful Product
From AnchorageComments about Ocu-GLOThis is a fabulous product. It was recommended by our specialty vet as our baby girl has thinning retinas, and has cataracts developing. After using this product, we can see a difference with the health of her eyes. If you have a smaller dog, you can use the snip caps as a safer and easier option than trying to get them to swaller the capsule (PLEASE dont try to get a small dog to try and swallow the capsule...its huge!) Snip and squeeze onto your dogs food OR, because the snip caps are twice as expensive as the capsules, I take a capsule, put a small slit in it and carefully squeeze it onto her food. Please note that IF you arent careful, you will make a complete mess as the contents of the capsule is reddish orange and WILL stain pretty much anything that it comes into contact with. Other than this, no worries. As this product is loaded with antioxidants you cant go wrong! Finally, vetrxdirect has a great price on this product AND has SUPER FAST Shippjng! -
Am a true believer
From Riverside, CA, USAComments about Ocu-GLOI have a 14 1/2 yr old Australian Cattle Dog....she was diagnosed w/ PRA when she was 7 yrs old.....Vet gave her 6 months to a year to be completely blind...heartbreaking news since she was my agility Champion...started her on Ocu-glo and didn't have to retire her until she was 11 yrs old! She goes in to see the eye doctor twice a year and he can't believe that she STILL has some vision (tho minimal.....she can distinguish a little light) PRA (progressive retinal atrophy) is incurable but I truly believe that Ocu-Glo gave my little gal extra years of sight! Highly recommend!! -
Ocu-Glo recommended for PRA
From San Francisco, CA, USAComments about Ocu-GLOOur 13 year old Gordon Setter, Sadie, was recently diagnosed with Progressive Retinal Antrophy. There's currently no treatment for this hereditary disease. While she is in no pain she will slowly go blind. OcuGlo was recommended to at least slow the process. Right now Sadie has very little to no vision at night and in low light situations, hopefully Ocu-Glo will help her keep a bit of vision for the rest of her life.-

Nothing short of a miracle...
From Dallas, Tx.Comments about Ocu-GLOMy 13.5 yr old miniature poodle has retinal sclerosis and just over 6 months ago started showing signs of decreased night vision. When I offered her a treat at night she quivered and backed away. I Took her to the opthalmologist who gave her all the tests including turning off the lights and tossing cotton balls at Gabbysue. She did not respond in the dark. gabbysue was diagnosed with early signs of Progressive Retinal Atrophy. Fast forward to 6 months later after taking Ocu-glo RX which the opthalmologist prescribed. Gabbysue is no longer flinching at night when offered treats, and when she went for her 6 month follow-up, the doc turned off the lights and threw the cotton balls, and Gabbysue ran right up to them to see what they were! Her night vision came back to her! She is confident to go doen her stairs off the bed in the dark at night as well. She got an " Excellent" evaluation from the doctor. Ocu-glo has bought us some time, and for this we are most grateful. I will say that sometimes it can challenging to sneak the big ol' capsule to Gabbysue, and if it breaks open, its a mess, but you learn how to work around it. -
Great supplement.
From Delaware, USAComments about Ocu-GLOMy 9 mo old puppy was diagnosed with a juvenile cataract. The ophthalmologist suggested that I start giving him OcuGlo. After being on it for 3 months, he had another check and the cataract had not progressed at all. I am hopeful that OcuGlo is working and will continue to use it.
Q & A

my dog started the powdered capsule about 5 days ago and seems to poop more than usual. She is 8 1/2lbs 1 capsule daily. Could this be a problem?
-
If your dog is experiencing loose stools or diarrhea, the dose may be too high. Stopping the supplement until stools return to normal may be beneficial. Consult with your veterinarian to determine which dose is best for your dog.

Why is my Ocu-Glo powder blend a different color than it used to be??
-
According to the manufacturer, they switched vendors for the raw material Astaxanthin to get a higher quality product. The older product may appear more yellow, while the newer product may appear more orange in color. Astaxanthin is a naturally-occurring carotenoid found in algae, shrimp, lobster, crab and salmon. Carotenoids are pigment colors that occur in nature and support good health.

Hi, I have a question about dosage. My dog is 11 pounds, and the suggested daily use for 11lb is one medium/large dog capsule. However wouldn't that be too much for him? The weight range is 11-30 lbs and I'm worried about side effects from overdosing. I would appreciate your answer.?
-
The manufacturer stated dosage for an 11 pound dog is 1 medium/large size dog capsule. The Ocu-Glo for small dogs contains half of the amount of active ingredients by weight per capsule compared to Ocu-Glo for medium/large dogs and is recommended for dogs under 11 pounds. You should contact your vet with your specific concerns to ensure proper care for you dog is provided.

-
Ocu-GLO snipcaps and powder blend are designed to be able to be opened and spread over food or a treat to make administration easier. You can open the powder blend capsules or snipcap to mix in with your dog’s meal, which may be easier for you and your dog.

WOULD IT BE TOO LATE TO START GIVING A DOG OCUGLO IF CATARACTS HAVE ALREADY SET IN AND THE DOG CANNOT SEE. WOULD IT REVERSE OR LESSEN THE CLOUDINESS OF THE EYES.?
-
Ocu-GLO is a product designed to support and maintain overall eye health. The manufacturer states it is intended to slow the onset of cataracts and maintain eye health as a preventative supplement. It will not reverse cataracts that have already set in. Consult your veterinarian regarding the treatment of your dog’s cataracts to ensure proper and effective treatment.

I am no vet but when we took our 5 year old Schnauzer to the Ophthalmologist for Retinal Degeneration, he recommended we also give it to our 10 year old Schnauzer for cataracts to slow down the process. Just thought I would share :)

My dog is 16 lbs, been having a hard time getting him to take the capsules now..Can he use the ones for small dogs? Even though they say 10 lbs and under? Could he take 2 small tables in place of the 1 capsule.?
-
According to the manufacturer, the strength of the liquid gel caps for medium to large dogs (> 11 lbs) is 350 mg. The strength of the liquid snip caps for small dogs (< 10 lbs) is 175 mg. Giving two of the liquid snip caps for small dogs would provide an equal amount to one of the liquid gel caps for medium to large dogs.
