My dog eats it!!
From Ohio, USAComments about Ocu-GLOI bought this a month ago on the advice of my opthomologist. No issues with getting my young dog to take it daily - in fact, he must think it is a treat! Too early to tell if it is halting the progression of his recently discovered cataract, but I will remain hopeful. Will definitely keep using until told otherwise! -
Super Product
From Sioux City, IAComments about Ocu-GLOOur German Shepherd has been on Ocu-glo for about 5 weeks. He is going blind and it is not curable but the conditioned has almost frozen in time. Before we started him on Ocu-glo we could see changes for the worse every week. His eyes are seeing better and he has not continued to get worse. -
CAUTION!!!
From North Royalton, OH, USAComments about Ocu-GLOI attempted to give my dog one dose of this product in peanut butter. My dog bite the capsule and refused to swallow it. The red dye running from my dogs mouth along with copious amounts of drool. Staining everything in his path along with a beige couch, that is now ruined. Being I had to spend $75 dollars on this eye supplement I attempted again to get this past my dog by mixing it in his wet food. Another no go, he ate everything around the supplement, but not the food with the supplement in it. I call Ocu-Glo and they stated that there is no flavor to this capsule, which is baloney because I can smell how bitter this is with my human nose. VetRX will not take returns for this product, and the Ocu-Glo manufacturers will only give a very small cash return on the remaining 88 capsules. It would of been nice if there was samples to give my dog first so I would not have flushed $75 down the toilet. I will not be purchasing anything further from either of these companies and do not recommended doing business with them at all. I understand that this product even if returned can not be resold because of it being opened. But this product is horrid to administer. -
Ocu-Glo
From UndisclosedComments about Ocu-GLOI bought this several weeks ago for my 13 year old Maltese, and was hopeful that it would be helpful to her. Unfortunately, she can't seem to swallow it. I have tried all kinds of things, but she refuses it or throws it up. I wish medicines and vitamins could be made in liquid form. It would be so much easier to medicate animals. My dog threw it up and the stain wouldn't come out of the blanket, so I had to toss it. So, basically I threw $70 in the trash since my dog wouldn't accept the thing. I'm sure it is great, just not for my dog. Karan -

Recommended by veterinary ophthalmologist
From Matthews, NC, USAComments about Ocu-GLOMy dog has been diagnosed with progressive retinal disease and will eventually go blind. The vet is hopeful this product will slow down the process and buy him some time. I'm all for that so I'm giving it a try. -
Competitively priced/fast delivery!
From Wantagh, NY, USAComments about Ocu-GLOThis is a more difficult dog medication to find and the price is right and delivery is consistently rapid! Our dog also loves the bonus treat that always arrives with her medicine delivery. -
Too big for my 14 pound dog
From Charleston, WV, USAComments about Ocu-GLOI bought this to give to my dog and it is too big for him to take. The larger capsule is to be given to dogs who weigh more than 10 pounds and since the capsule cannot be spread over food, it was a waste of money. -
Has worked great for us!
From Arkansas, USAComments about Ocu-GLOMy Doberman has a degenerative retinal disease. Vet Opthomologist said no treatment would be effective, and estimated 6-12 mos to total blindness. Recommended Ocu-glo as our best choice for an intermediate treatment, which we have followed faithfully. That was THREE years ago. My baby sees very little, but does see. No other changes were made. I credit Ocu-glo for this extended sighted life for my Boy!
Q & A

my dog started the powdered capsule about 5 days ago and seems to poop more than usual. She is 8 1/2lbs 1 capsule daily. Could this be a problem?
-
If your dog is experiencing loose stools or diarrhea, the dose may be too high. Stopping the supplement until stools return to normal may be beneficial. Consult with your veterinarian to determine which dose is best for your dog.

Why is my Ocu-Glo powder blend a different color than it used to be??
-
According to the manufacturer, they switched vendors for the raw material Astaxanthin to get a higher quality product. The older product may appear more yellow, while the newer product may appear more orange in color. Astaxanthin is a naturally-occurring carotenoid found in algae, shrimp, lobster, crab and salmon. Carotenoids are pigment colors that occur in nature and support good health.

Hi, I have a question about dosage. My dog is 11 pounds, and the suggested daily use for 11lb is one medium/large dog capsule. However wouldn't that be too much for him? The weight range is 11-30 lbs and I'm worried about side effects from overdosing. I would appreciate your answer.?
-
The manufacturer stated dosage for an 11 pound dog is 1 medium/large size dog capsule. The Ocu-Glo for small dogs contains half of the amount of active ingredients by weight per capsule compared to Ocu-Glo for medium/large dogs and is recommended for dogs under 11 pounds. You should contact your vet with your specific concerns to ensure proper care for you dog is provided.

-
Ocu-GLO snipcaps and powder blend are designed to be able to be opened and spread over food or a treat to make administration easier. You can open the powder blend capsules or snipcap to mix in with your dog’s meal, which may be easier for you and your dog.

WOULD IT BE TOO LATE TO START GIVING A DOG OCUGLO IF CATARACTS HAVE ALREADY SET IN AND THE DOG CANNOT SEE. WOULD IT REVERSE OR LESSEN THE CLOUDINESS OF THE EYES.?
-
Ocu-GLO is a product designed to support and maintain overall eye health. The manufacturer states it is intended to slow the onset of cataracts and maintain eye health as a preventative supplement. It will not reverse cataracts that have already set in. Consult your veterinarian regarding the treatment of your dog’s cataracts to ensure proper and effective treatment.

I am no vet but when we took our 5 year old Schnauzer to the Ophthalmologist for Retinal Degeneration, he recommended we also give it to our 10 year old Schnauzer for cataracts to slow down the process. Just thought I would share :)

My dog is 16 lbs, been having a hard time getting him to take the capsules now..Can he use the ones for small dogs? Even though they say 10 lbs and under? Could he take 2 small tables in place of the 1 capsule.?
-
According to the manufacturer, the strength of the liquid gel caps for medium to large dogs (> 11 lbs) is 350 mg. The strength of the liquid snip caps for small dogs (< 10 lbs) is 175 mg. Giving two of the liquid snip caps for small dogs would provide an equal amount to one of the liquid gel caps for medium to large dogs.
