What is PancrePlus for Dogs and Cats?
- PancrePlus relieves the symptoms of Pancreatic Insufficiency Disorder (PID) in dogs and cats. PID is also known as EPI, or Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency.
- This prescription medication replaces the pancreatic enzymes that your dog or cat doesn’t produce but needs to digest the protein, sugar, and fat in food.
- PancrePlus is also fortified with Vitamins, A, D and E to boost your pet’s health.
Why do cats and dogs use PancrePlus?
- Dogs and cats with maldigestion, or Pancreatic Insufficiency Disorder (PID)/ Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), suffer from weight loss, discomfort, and hair loss because they can’t properly digest the nutrients in food.
- The condition shuts down the pancreas, which produces digestive enzymes.
- PancrePlus replaces those enzymes so that your pet can digest needed proteins, sugars, and fats from food.
What else should I know about PancrePlus?
- Improves digestion and nutrition absorption in pets with PID/ EPI.
- Fast acting.
- Powder form mixes easily with food.
- Pancreatic enzymes made from a pork product.
- Vitamins A, D, and E for extra nutrition.
What problems could my dog or cat have with PancrePlus?
- Cats often do not like the taste of the pancreatic enzymes powder and may be more likely to take tablets or capsules made from crushed tablets. Some cats also may eat one brand of enzymes and not another. Talk to your veterinarian if you are havign trouble with medicating your cat.
How do you use PancrePlus?
- PancrePlus works best when mixed with food and food is allowed to sit before feeding. Always follow your veterinarian's directions for use.
- If using tablets, make sure that your cat or dog gets water or food right after taking the tablets. This may reduce the risk of damage to the esophagous.
- Avoid inhaling powder as it may cause lung irritation or worsen asthma.
- Avoid contacting your skin with the powder. Wash any powder from your skin as soon as possible.
What is in PancrePlus?
- PancrePlus contains pancreatic enzymes that break down the nutrients in food.
- These enzymes typically come from pork sources.
Will I get what I see in the picture?
- PancrePlus is a brand name. You will receive the exact brand that you request.
Is it important for my dog or cat to finish all of the PancrePlus?
- Dogs and cats may use PancrePlus for different lengths of time. Please consult your veterinarian if you have any questions.

This medication is literally a "Life-Saver"
From UndisclosedComments about PancrePlus Powder, 12oz BottleJuno has EPI the PancrePlus powder makes it possible for her to live a normal healthy dog life. It's literally a "life-saver" preventing her from wasting away due to the fact that her pancreas cannot absorb the nutrients from her food without it. She is a rescue dog I believe her previous owners probably could not or did not want to suffer the costs of this lifelong treatment. VetRX has is one of the most affordable providers of this medication and their customer service agents are easy to reach and well trained to assist.-

what are the side effects of pancre plus??
-
At high doses, this product may cause stomach upset (diarrhea, cramping, nausea). This product should be followed with water or food as it can cause bleeding or ulcers in the mouth and esophagus. Dose reduction and moistening the powder mix may also decrease the incidence of these side effects. After mixing, let stand at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before administering dose.

What is the ingredient? Also, my dog has a prescription for enzyme powder but in Portuguese, because she doesn't live in the U.S (but the product would be shipped to the u.s). Would I be able to buy this??
-
The active ingredients in 2.8 grams of the PancrePlus Powder are 71,400 USP units of Lipase, 388,000 USP units of Protease, and 460,000 USP units of Amylase. Unfortunately, VetRxDirect pharmacy is not licensed to fill orders for shipment outside of the United States. This includes direct shipments and orders sent to addresses within the United States that are then being shipped outside the United States.

How much powder should be added per cup of food?
-
PancrePlus is not dosed relative to the amount of food given. The manufacturer recommended dose for PancrePlus for dogs is ¾ to 1 teaspoon before each meal and for cats is ¼ to ¾ teaspoon before each meal. It should be added to moistened food. The food should then be mixed thoroughly and allowed to sit 15 to 20 minutes before giving to your cat or dog. Your veterinarian will provide directions that may vary from the manufacturers general recommendations that is tailored specifically to your pet.

My vet thinks my cat has pancreatitis. She prescribed pancreplus. It is a powder and has a scoop. She told me to give her one teaspoon which the scoop isn't a teaspoon. From what i read on the label it says 1/4 to 3/4 teaspoons to be given before the meal. Before the meal OR it is in the meal? I feed her mini meals, so I don't use a whole teaspoon? It also says to give before a meal-but then says to mix with the food? I have followed the instructions & mixed it with her food and waited the 15 minutes, but she won't eat it. I tried mixing it with a topper too but I can't get her to eat it. And I don't think leaving room temperature can food out is a good idea for a long period of time. This is the first time my vet has prescribed this and couldn't answer my questions. Any suggestions??
-
The package insert doses the medication per teaspoon. It is recommended to follow these dosing instructions unless told otherwise by your veterinarian. This medication is to be mixed thoroughly with canned food and then let sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before feeding. This medication does come in a tablet form that may be more acceptable for your cat. For additional questions concerning this medication or alternatives, please contact your veterinarian.

The onset of improvement in a dog's stools from this product is usually within a few days. However, there is a lot of variability depending on the dog. Please contact your veterinarian to talk about dosing, other questions you may have about this product and if it is still the best choice for your dog.
