Drops work wonders!!
From UndisclosedComments about Tobramycin Ophthalmic Solution 0.3%, 5mL BottleThese eye drops work wonders for my dog. She has severe environmental allergies and occasionally her left eye acts up, gets yucky and has a thick mucus like substance. Her eye also gets bloodshot from the irritation of the mucus. When I use these drops, they help to push out the mucus from her eye and reduce the bloodshot appearance. Within a few days, the mucus stops in her eye. I've been using these drops for years because they work so well for my baby girl.-

This pharmacy deserves koudos.
From UndisclosedComments about Tobramycin Ophthalmic SolutionI found Sebastian walking down the street a while ago. His skin was so damaged with fungus, and he had a chronic ear infection. My Love and consistent care have brought relief to his skin health, and his infection is under control, even though he's not able to listen well. Dermalone ointment and Tobramycin have been my right hand on the process. I've not found any pharmacy with such competitive pricing on these two items and fast service as VetRxDirect.-

My cat had conjunctivitis about 1.5 months ago and it was treated with these drops. The conjunctivitis has returned. Can I use the same antibiotics twice or do I need to get a new type since this one was used already??
-
It would be best for your cat to be seen by the veterinarian with any new infection. The veterinarian will be able to determine what is the best prescription medicine to use for the current infection of your cat. As with any prescription medication, it is to only be used for what it is prescribed for. Please contact your veterinarian for further evaluation. Do not use any medication past the expiration date listed on the label or manufacturer container.

I have a 17 year old Shih-Tsu. My vet prescribed Tobromycin for 2 weeks and it worked well - clearing up her eyes. But when I stopped giving it the "gunk" in her eyes returned. I've re-ordered twice since then and each time it works well but then the symptoms return. Can I give this medication continuously or are there long-term issues I should worry about. Is there a different medication I should try in clear up her eyes more long-term.?
-
Tobramycin is prescribed to treat bacterial infections in the eye. Because it is an antibiotic, using it long term may increase the chance of developing resistant bacteria. You should talk with your veterinarian about the use of this medication long term and the treatment options for your dog's eye condition.

How long should I continue using this product on my 14-year-old dachshund? She is also on 5% Sodium Chloride and Ketorolac Tromethamine in the left eye due to dog bite which led to corneal ulcer. I began using the 5% Sodium Chloride in her right eye. I can no longer afford trips to the eye specialist, so my general vet gave me prescriptions for this and Ketorolac Tromethamine. Can I just stop this medicine, but continue with the other two??
-
Tobramycin is an antimicrobial agent used to treat eye infections. Ketorolac Tromethamine is an NSAID agent that helps by giving short-term pain relief and Sodium Chloride is used in the eye to help draw out water from the swollen area. All of these medications are used for different reasons. It is recommended that you do not stop any of these medications without consulting your dog's veterinarian first. Please talk to your veterinarian to determine the recommended medications your dog should be taking.

My 11 lb poodle mix, Star was prescribed this medication for a small spot in her eyeball that is impairing her vision. She also appears to be developing a similar spot in the other eye. She is a rescue so I'm not sure how long it has been in her eyes or what might have caused it. Almost looks like a small scratch on the cornea. After reading about this product possible negative reactions I have some concerns about giving it to her. She had surgery for a large bladder stone about 3 months ago and is recovering well but we are feeding her special diet for PH balance so she doesn't have future stones develop. She has also had previous ear infections. My question is do you think it's a bad idea to go with this medicine for Star? Can you elaborate on the type of renal issues seen with the use of this medicine? Will it change the PH balance in my dog when using it? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you - Angel Baker?
-
Currently there is no clinical information regarding the use of tobramycin ophthalmic solution in pets, but the systemic absorption of the ophthalmic solution has been undetectable (< 0.2 mcg/mL) in humans. Due to the low systemic absorption of the ophthalmic solution, renal and pH issues may not be seen while taking this medication. However, if it were to enter the bloodstream, increased plasma concentrations of aminoglycosides (tobramycin) can accumulate in the renal cortex causing nephrotoxicity and may alternate your dogs pH level. We recommend consulting with your veterinarian before giving the medication to determine if it will be beneficial for your dog.

My vet prescribed this for my 3 month old kitten, a rescue cat who might have herpes virus and does have congested eyes. How long can I safely use this product on her??
-
Tobramycin is used to treat and prevent infections of the eye and tissue surround the eyes. Because every animal responds differently to medication, you should contact your veterinarian to determine the length of treatment for your cat.

I have gone to the vet and she gave my 2 month old cat Tobramycin. She was watery eyes and a congestion type wheeze. The sneezing has seemed to decrease slightly but her eyes are still very watery. How long should I wait until I should take her back??
-
The tobramycin ophthalmic drops are only used to treat infections of the eye and will not treat respiratory congestion or wheezing. Contact your veterinarian is you have not seen improvement in 3 to 4 days or if the infection has not cleared in one week after starting tobramycin. Thank you, VetRxDirect

I used this solution on my dog's left eye and I noticed her pupil constricted/miosis. Is that normal??
-
Vivi, Tobramycin ophthalmic solution (Tobrex) is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial eye infections. According to the manufacturer, tobramycin ophthalmic solution is generally well tolerated and adverse effects are uncommon if used correctly. The most common adverse effects include eye redness, tearing, eye discomfort and itching of the eye.
