Can I rinse with water when side effect red eyes are severe?

It is not recommended to rinse out medicated eye drops like tobramycin ophthalmic solution after administration as you may dilute or rinse away the medication from the eye reducing its effectiveness. Please consult your veterinarian if you find that the medication is not well tolerated.

I was prescribed this by my vet for an eye infection on my dog. His eye looks better, then when we put the drops in his third eye comes back out and he gets squinty again. Is this a normal reaction and are we safe to keep using it??

Hi. My cat had a red, swollen, itchy right eye all of sudden and ER vet prescribed this. Recommendation is 2-3 drops every 12 hours for 10 days. My cat first had an eye issue on Saturday and in 5 days, it's clearly healed and normal. The vet clinic I went was notoriously bad reputation in town and I didn't know that so I feel like I don't want to trust a vet advice. In general, is it okay to not follow 10 days? During an application, he needs to wear a cone on for 24 hours and once his eye healed, he strongly refuses to wear a cone. Is it okay to give 7 days not 10 days prescribed? Is it giving a big problem to shorten 3 days of advice? Also is it okay if cat touches his eye after drying? If I have to follow 10 days, I just want to apply it and keep his cone on until it is dried then keep cone off.?
